Smooth and nice, with a hint of fruits, whisky. Very good stout better tasting of whisky, the alcohol does not dominate the beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Like many cask aged beers, it has notes of molasses, black cherry, vanilla, and of course wood aging. Not as overtly whiskey flavored as the rum cask is rum flavored, although I think the starting product is more rum oriented in any case. Dark brown cola like appearance. Taste of bitter vanilla and chocolate, a touch of whiskey, but mainly toasted malts. Kind of thin but very smooth. My favorite of the new series I & G casked ales.

Pint glass. Dark brown with half finger tan head. Smells like whiskey, vanilla, and brown sugar. Tastes of whiskey, cherries, chocolate, vanilla, and oak. The palate is a bit thin for me, but overall, it's ok, I would try it again.

Draft at World of Beer, Fort Myers. Poured a dark brown color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was some chocolate and toasted malts, some oak notes, and a bit of booze. Flavor was roasted, toasted notes, smooth whiskey character comes out. First sip was actually all that pleasant, but subsequent sips were quite enjoyable. Creamy, enjoyable.

Bottle, and on the Label: Whiskey Finish: Dark red colour, with a big head. Aroma is dominated of bread, wet wood, caramelly, vanilla, some citrus to. Flavor had a woody, whisky, vanilla mouth feeling, and it dominates all the way, medium body, some woody ending, this was a surpice and it was nice!

3.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark and broody, thin off-white head. Lacks a wee bit on the nose, but I’ve a cold so that may just be me! Quite smooth, well malty, full bodied, a touch of sweetness on the finish. Rather nice!

11.2 ounce bottle, stamp on it says BBE Dec 14. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch tan head. The head sticks around a while, and there’s a decent amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate, Irish whiskey, and some dark fruit and coffee. It tastes like roasted malt, Irish whiskey, bittersweet chocolate, oak/wood, coffee, dark fruit (cherries), peat, and vanilla. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit creamy and coating with moderate carbonation. I liked this brew, it’s not heavy on the Irish whiskey and I think it meshes well with the stout. I’d buy this again. $11.99 a 4-pack.
