Bottle at Red Dog Wine and Spirits. Pours dark brown with a dissipating head. Aroma of rich malts and whisky. Lighter side of medium bodied with semi soft carbonation. Basically your typical malty British beer with tons of Irish Whisky. Boozy and unbalanced, unless you love Irish whisky.

330ml bottle served in a chalice glass. Pours a dark a brown color forming a small and low persistent tan head. Some few spotty lacings are left in the glass. Strong woody and whiskey nose. Strong sweet notes of caramel and roasted malts followed by a whiskey nose. Sweet upfront mouth. Strong notes of caramel malts, roasted malts and oak. Low bitterness. Heavy body. Low carbonation. Oak and roasty aftertaste. Good drinkability. Not bad.

The aroma is malty but difficult to lay down the details due to its dense foam. The taste is very malty and luscious with clear notes of coffee and a little smoke. It is a beautiful and very tasty ale. A nice and tasty stout, which they say may have a little more whiskey character to live up to the name.

Jag är inget big fan av alla öl Innis & Gunn gör men jag brukar ändå tycka vissa är bra. Denna drack jag faktiskt inte ens upp, pga sötman. Den är på alla sätt och vis alldeles för söt. Sliskig liksom. Synd! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Surprisingly mediocre. I had stopped rating for a long time, but the most recent Innis & Gunn offerings were so bad that I started rating again as a warning. This makes a great "bad example" beer, and example of how not to do something. Aging a stout in used Irish Whiskey barrels is a great idea. Throwing oak chips in to get an oak taste in a hurry is a terrible idea. This tastes too sweet, too chemically, and is just a bad beer. Not drain pour like the toasted oak IPA, but pretty awful nonetheless.

Bottle at Counting House. It pours cloudy near black with a thick light tan head. The nose is bitter -sweet, decent roast, light smoke, wood, treacle, honeycomb, light vanilla, toasted coconut and nougat. The taste is smooth, bitter - sweet, sweet roast, cocoa, nougat, honeycomb, bounty bar, spicy whisky and alcohol boost with a sticky - sweet finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Probably one of their better beers, but too sweet for me!

Bottle (11.2oz $3). Dark red brown with small head. Somewhat sweet smell. Tasted roasty and sweet like scotch ale with light whiskey taste. Seemed like lighter body than most stouts.

Pours quite light for a stout. Creamy head tends to dissipate quickly. Hints of whisky barrel in the bouquet. Nice soft mouth feel with upfront sweetness. Alcohol comes mid palate but doesn't overpower. Long creamy finish with sweet oakiness and vanilla. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of whiskey, oak, cocoa, light fruitiness and a hint of coffee. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flvors of cocoa, oak, roastiness and light whiskey with a smooth lingering cocoa finish.

Nästan kolsvart med lite orangefärgat skum. Doftar kaffe och karamell. Smaken omedelbart söt, nästa för söt. Eftersmaken ganska lång med smak av melass.
