can. Poured clear light gold with an initially large white head that settles. Sweet grainy hay aroma. Light-medium body, average carbonaton, tart finish. Flavour of light pale malt, fairly dry with spicy grassy hops. Not a complex as other Gunns I’ve tried.

0.33 l bottle from local supermarket. Pale lager colour, head dies quite quickly. Taste is, however, quite nice. Fruity carbonation combined with hoppy sweetness. If this did not made any sense, this was my last beer for today. Well, anyway, very smooth and refreshing as stated on the back label.

Maker: Inn is & Gunn (brewed at Wellpark (C&C Group), Edinburgh, Scotland *** Beer: Inn is & Gunn Lager Beer (cask, at The Archibald Simpson, Aberdeen) *** Style: Lager *** ALC.VOL.: 4.6% *** Colour: Bright golden yellow, clear, medium creamy head. *** Nose: Floral hops, some citrus fruit. *** Texture: Medium bodied, but full mouthed for a Lager, hardly watery. *** Moderate carbonation. *** Taste: Some mild lemon, a bit buttery as well. Grain, but not wet plaster. Middle is slightly floral, with malty notes for balance. Modestly bitter finish of grains and a wee bit of citrus. Short aftertaste, of malts. *** Impressions: A bit fuller in texture than most lagers, but other than that, the typical thirst quencher on a summer’s day - which this is. Good with grilled dishes, too bland on its own.

Ive had the brands other products, and have never been disappointed. This beer just missed the mark. Tastes a little harsh. Will buy when on sale. Thats it. MB

When I think of Scotland, "Lager" is not the first thing conjured up. In fact, it is a close second to "Ale". I jest. Aside from the too-low carbonation, this is actually a fairly enjoyable quench. Clear as a blonde belle but without a trace of lace. the earthy and mildly floral and spicy hop aroma in conjunction with a heather and honey scent is quite enticing. Perhaps thew fuller body comes from the oats in the mash. While it is a wee bit cloying, I would knock back of few of these, a nice alternative to the big watery Lagers that have sullied the style.

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Clear golden. Fruity nose. Mid sweet with light-medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Fruity and lightly bready. Low bitterness.

Aroma is somewhat mild with buttery tones and grainy malt. Flavour has toffee typical to English ales, butter, grainy malt and mild grassy hoppiness. Also some minerals in the finish. Feels ’warm’. Easy to drink. A pale lager with English twist.

500ml can into English pint. Pours a clear golden straw with billowing (but quickly dissipating head) leaving lots of lacing. Minimal aroma, with some grain and maybe a bit of apple? Tastes alright; light, somewhat tart, somewhat sweet. Would be an acceptable session option, but I’ll remember to choose something different next time at the end of a long day.

Keg tap at Robert the Bruce (JDW), Du fries. Light yellow with a circle of white head. Grain/cereal aroma... nothing else gets through. Passable lager bitterness with a sugary corn syrup note. Not very good at all...

330 ml bottle. BBE Jan/16. (K-Citymarket) Tampere, Finland.
Clear golden colour with a mid-size white head. Aroma of wood, dryness, malt and cheap hops. The flavour is malt, some sweetness, mild hops and mild bitterness. Tastes like cheap lager. Not my favourite.
