COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Pasteurised. Special - 2006
Brewed by Belhaven for Innis & Gunn
Ingredients: Golden Promise, Crystal malt and Roasted barley; Slovenian hops.
In April 2005, a specially brewed batch of this beer was filled into 100 hand selected ‘first fill’ bourbon casks to begin 107 days of unique character transformation.
Innis & Gunn are delighted to present the 2006 Limited Edition. This year we have chosen to oak-mature a style of beer that is darker, with a chocolate character from the roasted barley in the recipe, and aromatic, thanks to the use of zesty Slovenian hops.
Colour: Ruby Palate: Devilishly luxurious, rich chocolate character with a flourish of zesty hop complemented by mellow oak Finish: Rounded and satisfying, biscuit malt giving way to orange marmalade

Pours a dark brownish colour. Aroma of malts, roast, coffee, slight liquoirish? Bitter finish.

Transparent black/bown body, with thin soapy off-white head, some effervascense is present on the sides. The whiskey aroma is present, but there is this unexpected fruitiness that is quite nice on the nose of some cherry. Also some toffee present, oak/wood wualities, also has quite a lot of sweetness. Softer carbonation that expected by the appearance, minimal bitterness. Finish is quite sweet, predominantly toffee. Very dessert-like. Does not live up to the aroma, would be a nice beer as it has a lot of potential for pairings more-so than to drink on its own.

Bottle from SB. 'Malt Whisky Trail' Pours a beautiful dark copper with a smallbubbly white head. Aroma with dried fruits and roasted malt. Very sweet taste with hints of whisky. Mostly toffee and dark molasses in the palate. A bit too sweet for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mycket sötma i smaken, malt.

Hint of port wine when you smell it. Rather sweet, but that's fine :) Caramell and oak flavours. Give it a try for a different taste. High alcohol, but smooth taste.

Flaska från systemet - doft av smörkola mörk bärnstensfärg. Lätt eftersmak av whisky men annars len och bättre än den vanliga. Värmande känsla av alkoholen. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The smooth full body an do skinless of this beer was really different to anything I have tasted. They must really chip this beer to get that oak flavour. But there is a lovely vanilla flavour to it as well which lightens the taste. Nice head held by the wheat. A vey satisfying beer I. A rather small bottle.

Bourbon Aged Stout. Pour is surprisingly dark brown (considering it's a porter). Aroma is slight presence of bourbon, toasted malt and some smokey oak. Flavor is moderate toasted malt, some chocolate feel & a moderate presence of bourbon from aging. Finish is moderate bitterness and smokey. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice beer. Good on palate. Strength fine. Nice after taste. Would definitely drink again.
