2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, from Waitrose, Lincoln. Gold, thin but lasting white head and quite intrusive condition. Pleasant woody vanilla sweetness, some toffee and a faint citric twang in the nose, quite shortlived in the mouth with an initial caramel sweetness quickly evaporating leaving a brief sense of sourness that fades into a dry phenolic smokiness that lingers aimlessly

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma of whiskey, malt smoke and wood, amber, pours a small white head. Flavour is a softly smoked malt, hints of single malt and treacle too, alcohol is evident, too much oak. Medium bodied, very rich texture, boozy, quite dry. Itís the most unusual IPA Iíve ever tried.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared with Blankboy, Jerc, and Mabel, courtesy of me via LCBO. Clear bottle from a box. All butterscotch, vanilla, and barrel in aroma - quite nice really. Decent taste! Lots of barrel vanilla in taste - the body is still too thin to support the barrel aging, which has always been my complaint with these guys, but this one actually holds up fairly well. I enjoyed it and surprised myself - I wonít buy again at this price, but it is a nice treat.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Deep golden colour with a small white head. Strong oak and vanilla notes in the aroma, along with some floral and lemony hops, and a faint skunkiness (clear bottle, grrr...). Mouthfeel is light. Flavour of toffee, vanilla, bourbon, wood and lemon. As with the original, I find the body a bit too thin to fully support the flavour, but itís still an interesting and tasty beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bright yellow-orangeish color, with a fluffy white head, yeasty, fruity nose, with a nice vanilla bourbon oakiness accent, with some candied peaches and apricots, with a hint of Grand Marnier liqueur, a note of marmalade sweetness, with a flowery hop orange, citrusy aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a sweet honeyed pale malt, fruity orangey, vanilla oaky character, with some candied peachy, tangerine notes, within a mellow Grand Marnier liquorish mouthfeel, with a faint floral hop fruitiness, leading towards a malty, fruity, warm, leafy hop dryness finish.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
good sized off white head. Nice lacing on the sides of my tulip. Aroma is ALL oak. There is a slight funk, with a tinge of citrus, but itís all dominated by oak. Flavour is again, all oak. Iímnot gettig much else out of this beer, i dont see a huge difference from the original Innis and Gunn beer. There is a tiny bit of hoppy bitterness, but meh, not my thing.
