4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Dacrza (308) - Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA - MAY 19, 2012
Aroma: more malt than hop on the nostril; a bit of caramel or toffee hints; incredible whiskey scents--always a plus!
Appearance: dark mahogany body that olds a thin off-white inconsistent head and embodies thinner effervescence...not very attractive...
Palate: mellow, buttery slide with a bit of soda pop punch--odd as expected, and Scottish highlands for certain...
Taste: as usual, the whiskey/vanilla wedding hits you like a Donkey Kong barrel--sweet goodness, to combine these two wonders together....
a pleasant alternative to the norm, slick and musty with that signature whiskiness; as part of the three-beer sampler (with glass!), I place this slightly above the orignal--but both deliver...

My second favorite of the 4 I&G I have tried. A nice dark color and small head are fairly typical or I&G beers. This sounds somewhat odd, but this beer has both a rich, smooth, creamy taste, but then leaves a spicy after taste. Just an excellent beer.

Bought in a mix pack with the original and the rum cask. Strong vanilla notes. Enjoyed.

Pours amber with a nice head. The nose has nutmeg, biscuits and maybe bourbon. The taste has more nutmeg and biscuits. The palate is medium bodied with a medium texture and a cloying finish. Overall, it promised but the palate was a little unbalanced.

This is a very mellow, delightful beer. Very smooth in the mouth but still has life. Rich colour.

Clear dark copper with a medium tan head which slowly diminishes. Fruity, boozy, caramel malt aroma and taste. Orange peel, molasses, bourbon and vanilla notes. Silky smooth finish. Very nice! LF (Lagerboy Friendly)

Thanks to PaulUnwin for the share. Pours a slightly hazy caramel-amber with an off-white head. Nose is malt, vanilla, wood, spices, sherry, and overripe cherries. Flavor is similar- so much that is sweet: caramel, vanilla dominate with hints of overripe sugary fruit, sherry, and oak. Light to medium in body and enjoyable.

Sweet bourbon, fruit, oak, almost sherry like on the nose. The appearance is a deep amber, clear, off-white head. The flavor is like the aroma, bourbon first (a sweet bourbon like Jim Beam, I want to say), fruit, oak, vanilla, light butterscotch. The finish is bourbon, and resiny hops. Medium in body, maybe a bit thicker than medium. Not my first choice of a winter warmer, but decent enough.

strong and sweet, good medium malt. while sweet it is not overly stick sweet like I;ve, instead it is a smooth beer with touch of wood, vanilla and toffee. alcohol is strong yet you can hardly taste it. recommended.
