COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
bottled, special
We have sourced rare oloroso sherry casks to mature this limited brew. The casks started their life in Spain but were also used to mature some pretty tasty scotch whisky before they came to us. The beer is rich and spicy with lots of nutty caramel sweetness drawn from the wood

colour:golden
smell:sticky figs, grassy freshness fromthe hops, with some cloves and allspice
Taste:caramel sweetness and ripe red grapes, balanced out by an earthy hop bitterness
Finish: rich and long lasting
What to have with it: soft goats cheese, beef carpaccio, olives or figs
Malt: I&G ale malt, crystal malt, wheat
Hops: fuggles
Maturation: 60 days; oloroso sherry casks.

(Extra details: 200BBL beer pre-aged in unused oak casks, transferred to oloroso butts stored at william grants, vatted, cold conditioned for a few weeks then bottled)

Bottle to a glass mug. Pours a yellowish / amber color, and an off white head that dissipates quickly. Has a strong skunky smell on the nose. The flavor is quite different than the nose, with a strong malty backbone, and sweet fruit flavors. Different than my normal routine.

Pale amber pour. The aroma is sweet and slightly butterscotchy with a bit of soft fruitiness. It’s slightly vineous with a nice oakiness and a touch of pepper. There a bit of lingering fruitiness. Pretty decent.

2014-07-23. Dark golden amber body with a small white head. 3+ Aroma is mild, sweetish biscuity malt, moderate wood and alcohol. 6+ Flavour is similar, sweet biscuity malt, light wood and alcohol throughout, mild sherry undertones throughout. Average plus bodied palate, soft carbonation. Okay. Much better than expected. I enjoyed it much more than their other products. Bottle from the LCBO cellared several months, Toronto

Another old I&G rating. Tried this alongside some Oloroso whiskey. Poured golden. Aroma was grassy, some spices as well. The oloroso casking came through in the flavour more, red wine, and caramel. Overall preferred the Scotch but this was nice as well.

Clear bright gold - amber beer. A small and very pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and surprisingly minerally crisp. Fresh light malt, thin cream and light barrel induced vanilla. Light touch of dried fruits and a whisper of bitter wood. Finishes light and fruity fresh with the sherry finally making an appearance in the aftertaste. This was lighter than expected or wanted but in kinda works and the beer slipped down easy.

Shared 33 cl bottle. Nice bronze pour with some offwhite head. Aroma is dates and sweet. Taste is again dates, sweet and some nice hints form the cask. Well hidden ABV.

Not anymore special than the other ’special’ releases. A dissapointment, butterscotch is the dominant aroma.

330 ml bottle. Clear honey copper, white foamy head settles and fades quickly. Fruity sherry aroma. Rich and sweet, smooth, fruity, malty, sherry boozy taste, some caramel and nuts, lightly spiced, a hint of oaky scotch. Soft carbonation, medium bodied, low hopped. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

Aroma : sweet notes of sherry and oak. Not much from the malts and hardly any hop aroma Taste: like most their beers, almost all the taste is in the finish where the barrell ageing contributes to almost all the flavor Appearance : clear gold body with low head retention

@ Havregatan. Flaska från Systembolaget (27:-). Trä, sötma, Sherry, len i munnen, fruktig, ek, lång avslutning. Det är väldigt mycket Innis & Gunn i den här, både i doften och i smaken.

330ml bottle. Orangered clear body with a medium head. Dried fruit, wood, red berries, vanilla and almond. Almost no carbonation. Interesting beer to try, but nothing I’ll be missing.
