""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.""""

an accidental discovery that truly has become, in my opinion, one the really great sippers available. vanilla, toffee, oranges and light oak. amazing what a wooden barrel can contribute to a brew.

A whisky like beer. At nose is grassy and woody. Malt is dominant with hints of vanilla and oak wood, with some traces of nuts , very complex aroma with medium body. Very easy to drink, though it’s 6.6 % ABV. Absolutely amazing when paired with oven-baked potatoes and and cheese.

Thin aroma, not very strong. Clear amber color, little carbonation and no head. Warm tasting with hints of caramel. Sweet but not syrupy.

This is an extraordinary complex and very full-flavoured ale. It takes you on a journey past hops and malt, elderberry and tangerine, through salty seaweed vanilla and oak. Who would have thought whisky cask maturation could lead to such joy in a beer?

Nice fancy, important looking bottle. Dark golden/amber coulored ale, nice sized frothy white head. A quite strong and distinctive aroma, hoppy and backed by strong malt, with very woody tones. This is a rather strange beer to taste, it is sweer, honeyish mostly with very woody, whisky and sherry like undertones, slight hop bite and aftertaste. Wonderfully smooth on the palte, impressive. An unusual beer but very nice I would recommend it.

330ml clear bottle. Poured a crystal clear dark amber with off white lasting head. Light carbonation. Sweet nut-toffee aroma. Enjoyable whiskey butter-toffee flavour. Long hard-liquor finish. A great pre-dinner beer to impress posh guests.
