""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.""""

Golden, Amber colour, small white head, quite carbonated, tastes different from the first one that I had and remember. That was the distinctive tastes but this one tastes more like Stella to me? Have my taste buds changed that much? Anyway the lacing quickly recedes and there is a nice mouth feel. Bottle from waitrose.

Pours golden amber with white head, which dissipates quickly . Scent is faint, of caramel and vanilla. Taste offers a blend of sweet caramel, vanilla, and oak. On the palate, only the taste of caramel and toffee remain. Average carbonation, and mouth feel is relatively light without becoming watery. Overall, better than your average beer and highly drinkable, but not anything exceptional.

As clear as the bottles it comes in. Caramelized malt, toffee. Spicy hops with a touch of citrus. Cloying sweet finish. Not super skunky, but the skunk is lurking. I don’t know why brewers let the marketing guys take control of packaging in ways that hurt the product.

Pours a golden copper with white foamy head. Aroma is whiskey, spicy alcohol, caramel, rum and some floral notes. Slick and fruity palate. Aftertaste is spicy rum, dry alcohol and wood. Overall: Very nice. Enjoyable, to bad with the clear bottles. some skunk in the aroma.

Marstonlad (391) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 2, 2014
Bottle in a bar at Edinburgh. Pours dark copper with a little head. Aroma is definitely affected by aging; it has both vanilla and toffee in abundance. The taste is sweet and full of notes of oak and vanilla, also some pale malts in the background. Medium bodied, averagely carbonated palate. This is indeed original, interesting take on the English Strong style.
