Brewed by Belhaven for Innis & Gunn
Originally marketed simply as Innis & Gun Oak Aged Beer. "Original" was added later.

Ingredients: Golden Promise and crystal malt; Phoenix hops.
""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.""""

Pours a clear golden with not much head. Aromas light fruits and yeast. Flavors of fruity sweetness and some faint caramel malts in there as well. Not bad, maybe a tad too sweet but I’d have this again.

Great beer. Hints of spice and barrel flavour. Very little aftertaste. No head. Wouldn’t classify this as an ale. More carbonation then that. Overall happy with this brew. Purchase occasionally through the year. MB The Beer Bearon

Lukter pils og kommersiell, overraskende smak, veldig søt og man kjenner honningen. Veldig liten beske og man aner eikefatene i ettersmaken.

Bottiglia da 0,33. Schiuma adeguata ma non persistente. Carbonatura ottimale. Colore ambrato. Aroma deciso con sentori di bacche e caramello. Gusto dolciastro e affumicato. Finale breve ma intenso. Consiglio 7/10

The original is still probably the best beer Innis & Gunn make. If anyone wanted to know what craft beer is, this is a great place to start.
