""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.""""

Bottle. Pours orange gold, pure white head with great retention. Toffee, vanilla, slight spice...cloves and nutmeg? Spicy and wooded noted dominate with nice, medium to full malt character and sweetness. Whiskey aroma is the overall impression of this beer. Golden White head, nose - caramel, malt, vanilla, taste adds a more malty bread. Fine alcohol balance. Sweet and very faint bitterness.

This is OK. A bit more palatable than the rum-aged version I had recently. Nose is first malty with caramel, toffee, a bit of oak, some tobacco notes, which also show up front and center on in the flavor, strong oaky flavors, almost a bourbon type oaky note (without the corn or wheat graininess of bourbon). Semi-sweet finish is sweet malt and oak. That’s pretty much the theme of this beer, sweet toffee malts and oak.

Ordinær og kedelig Strong Ale. Meget fin og klar farve. Savner den gode smag af øl.

Bottle to a glass. Paired with a whisky and haggis at the whiski rooms... A malty profile and very smooth... Welcome to Edinburgh!!! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
