""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.""""

Poured from 330mL bottle. Clear golden amber colour with white head. Vanilla, toffee, oak nose. Same to taste. Better than the spiced rum version.

Scottish strong ale. A little aromatic with the flavours and aromas of Scotland.

Very slightly hazy deep honey golden under a thin off white top. Semisweet biscuity aroma with a wee touch of beechwood smoke, a little sausage, and bright oak. Smooth and bread malty flavor with a kiss of smoky malt giving a light German sausage nuance, oak, and a light bready finish. Light gentle honey throughout.

500ml bottle with no date. Pour light copper and clear. Fast disappearing white foam that left nothing, nothing at all. I’m not even sure it was white, it was to fast to notice. Aroma of cheap scotch and wet wood. Taste like a scotch with too much water, notes of caramel and wood. Once in my mouth, it’s actually not too bad I should say. Full body for the style, medium carbonation. Warmth of Scottish ethylene and caramel finish.

The beer pours clear copper with an off white head. The aroma has toffee, alcohol, oak, caramel and some medicinal notes. It has a medium body with light carbonation. The taste has toffee, crackers, toasty malt, oak, dates and some earthy/spicy hops. Pretty good.

330ml Bottle: Pours a clear golden with a reddish tinge, fizzy head that disappears quickly. Aroma of wood chips and a slight maltiness. Definite wood characteristics come through with a medium bitterness. Nice and malty, however, not much in the way of hop flavour. Finishes sweet with a medium body and fizzy carbonation.

Found it to be very heavy on the whiskey/bourbon flavour which i don’t like. Did really like the aroma and appearance. While it was not for my taste, can see why it made their barrel range so popular. Found the mouth-feel to be very smooth but also full in body, and initially, it was too bitter. I think I started out with it too cold, cause it really mellowed nicely as it warmed up.

BBE Jul 17. Kirkkaan tummankellertävä peruslager, olematon vaahto. Tuoksussa jotain epäaitoa esanssia, suutuntuma samaa teollista esanssia, kuivahko, parfyyminen vetisen tahmea lager.. Ei todellakaan mun juttu.

Similar a la Innis & Gunn Rum Finish, pero sin el ron y más maltosa. Estaba bebiéndola y pensando: entra con textura de agua pero... ¿a qué coño sabe? Hasta que me percaté de que era miel (o eso creo). Me encanta la miel, pero desde luego no para beber con cerveza. Le falta carbonatación para que no sea tan fácil de tragar.

A good English ale but has a bit of hops making it a bit more bitter than most ales. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
