3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to a friend who split this bottle with me. We poured it into snifters and were greeted with a slight white head that sat on top of the most awesome caramel honey colored brew I have seen in a while. The whisky aroma was well present in the nose. I also got some nice woodiness and a slight fruit aromas as well. The flavor was good I got a little caramel sweetness from the malts and the barrel aging worked well with it. Hints of vanilla and some smoke came thru as it warmed.
A good brew I have had it in my hands a few time and never pulled the plug on buying it. I will the next time I see it though.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle. Golden body, medium to small head. Aroma equals to a dash of scotch poured into lager. Grainy and mildly boozy. Taste has a vomity sweetness and some sawdust with slices of mouldy cucumber. Shockingly bad. It resembles all these cheap "rum" and "tequila" flavoured "party" pale lagers that are mostly undrinkable...

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Hazy amber pour with some white foam. Odd bready aroma. Tangelos. Soured buttered vanilla pumpernickel with honey. Feels to me like an attempt to turn a Hoegarden into a syrupy Belgium Christmas beer. I like my Scottish Ales dark. This one doesn?t work.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
11.2 oz bottle - Very light pour with some head. Nose mostly of alcohol and artificial wood flavoring. Taste is pretty much the same with a hint of citrus. Super thin on the palate.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bright deep orange pour with a moderate off-white head. Aroma is strong vanilla and hints of pine. Flavor is subtle spices, mainly vanilla, and well-balanced malt to hop (Kent hops perhaps) ratio. Finish has soft mouthfeel and slight dryness. Enjoyable.

Sorry I just did not like this beer. The oak is far too strong, tastes like cold liquid toast!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle @ Scotland. Pours a light orange color, which is no surprise, because the color was visible through the bottle. Nice ale with a real oak finish. Nice for a change.
