3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nice looking bottle and label, seems strange to put it in clear glass bottle.I hope it is not sun-struck.
Pours Amber, halcyon, and unclouded. Small ,dense ivory coloured head.
The nose is both sweet and oakish, a back ground of hops and banana and citrus, sort of a weird combo but it works.
Taste is agreeable and mellow, almost cream like in texture on first sip.Caramel, vanilla and yes, oak, come through strongest followed by the carbonation and a earthy bitter grass/lemon taste.the transition back to unctuous is not that smooth, but the finish is thick on the tongue and very candy like.
This is a good beer, worth our time to find and try.

De couleur cuivre avec un peu carbonisation . Cette bière à un côté boisé vanille qui lui donne un côté sucre .cette bière est un goût de finesse mais très mais très bien balancer entre le côté boisé et la côté sucre . Bon produit

""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish."""

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Not much oak on the nose, a slight caramel note. Oak comes into its own in the taste dept. Lending vanilla and spice. Slight chewy toffee flavour. Pleasant.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Waitrose. Really surprised that I haven’t gotten around to rating this yet. Dark orangey gold, not all that much carbonation. The famous oak and vanilla is undeniable, with some orange peel, whiskey and woodsmoke. Really sweet, sickly for a while, then it pulls back with a balancing bitter/sour note. Kumquat and caramel notes in the finish. A funny beer. It has problems but it’s decent overall. And the 6.6% is warming (especially for someone who’s been on a low-boost diet for the past few weeks).
