Sweet aroma and taste, particularly vanilla is present, but also bananas. This one really becomes too sweet for my palate. (Bottle)

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The aroma is sweet and boozy but not in an overpowering way. There is rum barrels, malt, brown sugar/caramel, hops. The appearance is medium red brown with an average head. The the palate is a bit thin but OK. Overall a good beer with a nice buttery finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
this beer has a lots of character. the rum flavor that it was stored in brings out the flavors of the malts and the sugars. very little to no hops but the flavor of nuts and candied sugar. not to thick on the palate but this beer is great all the way.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
bottle. Cola-like appearance. aroma of wood, vanilla, rum, wood. Taste is very sweet; no bitter to balance it at all. Interesting, but not for me.

Innis & Gunn have a way of making their beers resemble soda pop. For one, the bottle looks like a high-end rootbeer bottle and for two the beers resemble soda pop in both superficial and emaningfrul ways. This one in particular is just a slightly lighter shade than rootbeer and pours w/ a large bubbled and quickly dissipating head. The nose is sort of a musty toffee-ish flavor but the flavor has a sweet anise spicy character that resembles rootbeer to a noticeable degree. It’s good overall, I would say, and there is real beer character but it’s dominated by caramel sweetness and barrel character. I like the stuff I just don’t know if it’s quite what I look for in a beer, barrel aged or otherwise.

Flaske: Lys flaske brun øl med et let skumhoved. Duften er igen makro. Smagen er langt bedre med en god del rom. Ikke fantastisk.

Bottle gifted by the next door neighbor - many thanks! Easy toffee and caramel in the nose, quite sugary, slight aftertaste of rum(?). A nice beer.
