Bottle. Fantastic contrast between the rum and light hops. Spicy. A good mature taste. Gave me a warm glow...

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep mahogany, no head. Certainly smells like rum, plus a little molasses, oak, caramel and toast. Very, very heavy palate. It’s almost like a rum liqueur, actually. Sweet and heavy.

330 ml bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours clear dark amber with a big fizzy off-white head that leaves some lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty sweet with lots of caramel, some dried dark fruits, metal and spices. Taste is sweet and slightly bitter with caramel, cereal, rum and spices. Finish is slightly sweet, metallic and bitter.

Bottled 330ml. Nice drinkability. Not the best offering from the oak aged beer series in my opinion. Some potato sneaking in.
Earlier Rating: 3/14/2011 Total Score: 3.6
Bottled 33cl. Demerara, oak and caramel showing up in the nose. Sweet. Patato and mocha sneaking in. Very low bitterness. Remarkably smooth. Not much carbonation. Residual sugars in the finish.

Excellent and well made the rum is undeniable but not overwhelming. Plus dark but doesn’t drink that way

33 cl. poured into an I&G stem glass. Dark rum color with a sticky cobweb of foam. Nose is sweet - bananas foster, vanilla and maybe a hint of oak. Flavor is the same with just a touch of spice, earthy potato, and wood on the finish to provide the slightest bit of drying. Medium body is smooth, but way too sweet. OK dessert sipper, but there are many better.

Bottle. Pours a deep bronze with little head. I’m a big fan of the Innis & Gunn Oak Aged - so I was looking forward to this one. Not disappointed at all. The same Oaky earthiness on this with the Rum really punching through to create a sweetness. Spicy toffee notes and caramel touches make this dance on the tongue like a slowly melting candy. Refreshingly sweet and tasty without being too sickly.

Definite oak in aroma and taste. Thin body and amber color. Modest head. Clear bottle was a negative.
