Nice with the oak taste. Rum taste is slightly more subtle. Except from this the beer is rather ordinary.

Smells almost coffee like and malty smooth. Jonathanís favorite, its very smooth with a lot of sweet rum flavors, and itís not heavy or dry, it very light and refreshing.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This is a bit like drinking a rum and cola on the rocks after the ice has completely melted and the cola is some cheap brand. The rum is not overwhelming and is actually much calmer than in other rum cask beers, which is nice, but it is the about the only thing that really stands out. It smells like rum, it tastes like rum and it feels like rum on the palate....just watered down.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle @ home.Poured a deep mahogany with only a very small head and little carbonation., Molasses and malt on the nose, with a sweetness from the rum and a general fruitines in the swallow. I didnít feel it drank to its strength, making it a deceptively easy beer to drink despite its abv.. A very pleasant beer.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330 ml bottle. Pours dark reddish-brown with a small beige head, leaves nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is sweet, some maple syrup and honey, together with a well hidden malt backbone. A bit of alcohol. Taste reveals some delicate character - it is still a bit sweet but not syrupy any longer. It feels as a lighter version of cognac, well aged. It has some honey, caramelized fruit and a bit of warming alcohol. And yes, finish feels like rum, just as it is saying on the label. This beer is a treat, especially on a chilly winter day.

12 ounce bottle- pours out a really beautiful auburn color with a thin white head, very attractive in a pub glass. Aroma was sweet, a quirky mix of wood and candied berries. Tastes of apples and brown sugar, very enjoyable. Mouth filling and smooth. A very nice brew with a wonderful potential, Iíll be looking for this one again.

Great mix of beer and rum flavors, sweet and hot aroma, very drinkable and matches so well with spicy food.
For cap collectors: white and gold Innis and Gunn cap, with "Oak aged beer" written.

On tap. Minimal head. Not noticing much of a nose. Dark sweet but not quite as cloying as molasses, good coffee flavor adds depth. very good winter type drink
