We are delighted to present this unique limited bottling of Innis & Gunn finished in oak barrels which previously contained navy rum. Maturation in special oak barrels imparts Navy rums with the sweet, spicy character for which they are renowned. We have long wondered what flavours might be imparted to our beer by finishing it in these same barrels and earlier this year we decided to find out. We brewed a special batch of Innis & Gunn beer and matured it in oak for 60 days. Every single drop spent half of that time in American oak barrels before being refilled into selected navy rum barrels to finish the lengthy maturation. Once the beer had absorbed the unique character the barrels were emptied, the beer blended and then maturation continued for a further 47 days until all of the flavours had married together and mellowed. We think the result is absolutely delicious!

Caramel, rum and dried fruits in the aroma. Dark amber with a white head.Quite sweet with a light bitterness. Medium body with a average carbonation. Overall OK, but a bit to much rum flavour for my taste (as expected).

33cl bottle, "57 days matured". Pours dark ruby with a lively white heat. Smells of fruit, rum, spice, and malt. Tastes very rum-like; a heavy sweetness, and not a lot of counter. Itís very interesting, but not extremely drinkable. Pretty much reminds me of a rum-heavy rum&coke.

Clear Dark Copper Color, Big Head Dissipates Quickly, Light Spotty Lacing. Sweet Malt, Raisins With Rum Aroma. Sweet Malt, Raisins, Rum Finish. Medium Body, Average Carbonation. A Lot Smoother and More Enjoyable Than Innis & Gunn Original that I Had the Other Night. OK

Copenhagen 17/1 2015. 33 cl bottle from Netto. Pours reddish light brown with quickly settling white head. Sweetish but spicy aroma. Actually notes of rum and alcohol. Medium to low carbonation provides silky mouthfeel. Taste is rather sweet and complex with notes of alcohol and rum. A rather weird mix of beer and avec.

Body has a nice clear amber color with lots of bubbles clinging to the glass walls. The white head disappear quickly. Nose has loads of sweet vanilla accompanied by dark syrup and coconut notes. Taste has a boozy rummy sweetness to it with a short bitter finish. Carbonation is quite high and the palate oddly thin-feeling. The alcoholic rum-flavour is a bit overpowering but the sweet bouquet is nice.

Oaky, caramel malts, rum stickiness, creamy smooth moutfeel. Just didnít feel a lot of depth behind the warm sweetness.

Faint caramel and vanilla aroma. Overwhelming butterscotch taste. Rum finish? Well, there is lots of vanilla in the aftertaste.
