3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance of a carbonated beer: Short bubbly head, tan body. Flavor is exquisite but falls out of the ’beer’ category IMHO ’notes of rum’ literally means ’this beer is actually a form of weak rum but with velvety, buttery creaminess and addictive potential’. The aroma is wow. The mouthfeel is creamy. A very good pseudo-brew.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sweet aroma and taste, particularly vanilla is present, but also bananas. This one really becomes too sweet for my palate. (Bottle)

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours from a clear bottle with the look of root beer with a quickly dissipating head. Rum, slight raisin and oak hit hard with a lingering bit of alcohol in a full bodied taste and just slightly oily finish.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
330ml bottle@home. Mahogany body with some particles and a big light beige head. Sweet notes of vanilla and caramel, wood, bacon and ham to the nose. The taste is also quite sweet and also here vanilla is what first comes to mind, then cola, brown sugar, wood, pepper and prunes. I actually think it’s a tad too sweet and I also have to admit, I’m not a big rum lover...

The scent is almost unpleasant. The taste a little better and smoother. Very course and of course a little rum. Mediocre but drinkable.

Bottle. Fantastic contrast between the rum and light hops. Spicy. A good mature taste. Gave me a warm glow...

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
I’m truly astounded by the low ratings for this beer. This beer is much darker than it’s "original" counterpart and offers much more caramel flavour. However, just like the "original" it offers a strong vanilla flavour. There is a cinnamon-like spiciness on the nose and it washes down smoother than silk. All round fantastic Scottish beer which rivals many of the Brewdog creations.

Bottle from a supermarket. Family tasty no aroma but a nice gentle taste. Not much rum though.
