3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a frothy tan head. Nice lacing. Aroma of rum, oak, caramel, and sweet fruits. Taste is caramel malts, rum, and a taste of old oak scraps. Pretty light and watery. Sticky on the palate. Really not all that much going on. Pretty one dimensional. Sweet malty finish.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Clear brown with thin, white head. Some sweetness and alcohol, from the rum? Quite thin otherwise but not bad at all. Smooth caramel, low on hops.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
As Innis and Gunn Rum aged 6.8%. Poured into glass from the gift set. Dark ruby brown color with a tan head that fades. Aroma is sweet malt with vanilla and oak notes. There’s probably more in the aroma but I’ve got a little bit of a cold. Flavor is nutty with some sweet malt and vanilla. Not really getting anything that says rum. I imagine if I aged a Newcastle on oak this is probably what it’d taste like. Light/medium bodied with a fairly smooth mouthfeel. Overall a decent and quite drinkable beer, but not nearly as complex as I would have expected.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Body has a nice clear amber color with lots of bubbles clinging to the glass walls. The white head disappear quickly. Nose has loads of sweet vanilla accompanied by dark syrup and coconut notes. Taste has a boozy rummy sweetness to it with a short bitter finish. Carbonation is quite high and the palate oddly thin-feeling. The alcoholic rum-flavour is a bit overpowering but the sweet bouquet is nice.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from a bottle, a brown color, towards copper. Small head. Aroma of rum, alcohol. Odd, like being at a dockyard. Taste is sweet, rummy, vanilla, somewhat spicy, but light. Too light bodied for me.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2011 In bottle; aroma of fruit for sure with a hint of rum and maybe honey. Body was quite mild but the taste was similar to the aroma ... fruit, rum, honey. Very easy drinking.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours Clear but so dark with red tinge, head is pale magnolia, last although thins. The nose is rum and a spiciness. The taste is a vanilla, oak and rum taste and spice fruits, general sweetness. Medium, almost light body considering the taste. The carbonation fine. A glass of ale to savour its unconventionality!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is so very nice. I think the Original is more intriguing, but this is smooth, buttery, caramel, rum spiciness and warmth, and a great toffee fudge finish. My bottle didn’t last long.

33 cl bottle @ home. Rum Finish.
Aroma of oak, spice, rum, burnt malt. Clear reddish brown with tan head. A tiny head is lasting. High rum sweetness, spicy. A sweet beer!
Finish is sweet. Soapy texture. Average carbonation.
