Ingredients: Golden Promise and Crystal malt; Phoenix hops.
We are delighted to present this unique limited bottling of Innis & Gunn finished in oak barrels which previously contained navy rum. Maturation in special oak barrels imparts Navy rums with the sweet, spicy character for which they are renowned. We have long wondered what flavours might be imparted to our beer by finishing it in these same barrels and earlier this year we decided to find out. We brewed a special batch of Innis & Gunn beer and matured it in oak for 60 days. Every single drop spent half of that time in American oak barrels before being refilled into selected navy rum barrels to finish the lengthy maturation. Once the beer had absorbed the unique character the barrels were emptied, the beer blended and then maturation continued for a further 47 days until all of the flavours had married together and mellowed. We think the result is absolutely delicious!

Hands down, my favorite beer ever. I’m not going to get all fancy with aromas of this and hints of that. It is fantastic and if you don’t like this stick to Budweiser.

Pours clear mahogany with a finger of white head. Aroma of toffee, caramel, light vanilla. Taste is malt sweet with distinct rum infusion. Quite odd, in that it tastes more like a very weak rum than a beer. Body is light and smooth with soft carbonation.

Certainly the one of the most solid I&G offerings at our local LC, a beautiful garnet-highlighted umber that sadly lacks any lasting head. More than making up for that is the wonderfully intoxicating aroma; vanilla, oak, burnt toffee, rum, raisins, cinnamon and dark fruitcake scents lead you towards a matching taste. A very smooth texture aids this well balanced beer towards extremely drinkable territory for its drowsiness inducing 6.8%. The flavour that lingers on my tongue is a fine one and reminds me that a well crafted I&G brew can really stand up tall.

Botella. Color caramelo. Clara. Espuma cobriza con fina capa final. Aromas a café, caramelo y madera. En boca le encuentro un sabor brutal a caramelo y brandy. También miel. Resulta muy dulzona. No escogí bien el maridaje, ya que es claramente para postres. La próxima vez será. Muy curiosa. A destacar.

Robe brune aux reflets rubis. Mousse peu. Saveurs boisées, léger fumé. Saveurs de réglisse et de fruits noirs. Texture épaisse, légèrement syrupeuse. Longue en bouche. Une bonne bière.

Bottle at home. Sweet aroma. Taste is the same. Some toffee nuttiness, ginger and dark rum note. Mildly warming. Not bad at all.
