3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Ok, this one didn’t come in the box... in fact, was a B1G1 at Consumers, but hey, I’m always looking for a bargain, so I grabbed 4 bottles, knowing it was a deal. I was just a tad bit disappointed with the first bottle. The flavor was nice, the pour was dark... I just, I don’t know... expected more. Maybe I’ve been drinking too many heavier Belgians... this just seemed kind of lacking. But I really think that’s just where my palate is right now and not the quality of the beer. I look forward to enjoying the rest of my bargain.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
35 cl bottle. 6.8%. Dark amber to red color, big offwhite head. Fruity smell, banana upfront then winey notes. Aroma is fruity with dry cherry and rum in the finish, caramel, malts component is quite solid, not dense, a bit dusty. Wody overtones, wheat, faint bubblegum. Flattish taste, mildly sour, vague bitterness. Average carbonation, medium bodied. Dry aromatic finish. Medium complexity, peculiar aftertaste

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
15.11.2013. Innis & Gunn Rum Finish. Tuoksussa tammea ja mausteita, toffeeta. Maku tamminen, mausteinen, kai tässä sitä rommiakin on. Jälkimaku ainakin lämmittää. Melko hiilihappoinen, makea.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma: Medium oak, medium-light vanilla, caramel. Light fruity, banana, sweet alcohol. No hops
Appearance: Brilliant copper body. Thin, tan head, low retention.
Flavour: Medium toasty. Medium-light caramel, smooth, alcohol, rum. Light fruity, banana, dried plums. Medium bitterness with balancing maltiness. Medium-light roasty.
Mouthfeel: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Light alcohol warming, but still smooth.
Overall: A good beer, but missing the extra body and maltiness of a strong ale.
330 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Andre!

Drucken på flaska. Luktar ekfat och vanilj, vilket den också smakar. Maltig, men ganska klen. Sådär, inget jag skulle köpa.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
På flaska och släppt på 6,8%. Mörk något rödaktig med snabbt försvinnande skum. Både inslagen av rom och ekfat känns av i smaken. Dessvärre inte några framtonande inslag av öl. God men inte en hit.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours in a lovely deep copper to mahogany color, clear with a thin layer of scum. The aroma is typical of Innis & Gunn, sweet malt and some well-rounded wooden notes. Too be honest, if this is from rum cask so may be it, but I can’t tell the difference from any of the other oak based beers they make, bar the bourbon one. Nevertheless it’s a lovely smell and the taste follows that lead. Soft texture fills the mouth with sweet sugary demarrara and malt flavors. Maybe there’s crystal malts there but the sugars are the mainplay. Great! Perhaps this is where the rum casks come into play, imparting the sweetness of the sugar canes that made dark Guyana rums. I’d like to think so. Fantastic stuff. And thank you for stopping with the clear bottles. Beer bottles should be brown.

3.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Rubi brown colour with medium and quite long head.
Great and complex aroma. Fruity notes (apple, pear) combined with woody and spicy nuances (clove). Roasty and vanilla aromas contribute to the complexity. The negative aspect of the aroma is a not very high intensity.
Good sensations in nose clearly decrease when you put the beer in your mouth. Taste is really weak, watery sensation, medium body and low carbonation. After-taste is not very long nor intense.
To sum up, great nose which is not supported by the mouth. A pitty
