3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Single from the LCBO. Pours a clean golden colour with an amber hue. Frothy warm cap, decent retention which ends up coating the brew with a creamy top and ring. Big aromas of pilsner characteristics, and after breathing, grainy cereal and butterscotch appear. The taste though, does recall the typical Innis & Gunn caramel and hints of wood. A little more hop than usual for them, but still not much for a pale ale. Probably wanted and what makes a Scottish Pale Ale. Always drinkable and nice to see new brews from this brewery.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a clear light orange body with a medium white head. Aroma is caramel, vanilla, toffee, hints of smoke and sugar. Taste is caramel, cinnamon, vanilla and hints of sugar. Plain and really sweet. Palate is watery, with moderate carbonation. Mediocre stuff really, but somehow vaguely enjoyable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle from Tesco - Clear golden pour, thin white head. A nose of vanilla, wood and a touch of grass. A syrupy mouthfeel makes this seem a lot sweeter than it is. Sweet on the way out with a creamy vanilla aftertaste. Okay, but nowhere near as good as I&G’s other offerings.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Stop using clear bottles! Huge skunk aroma right off the bat, that eventually goes away after about 10 minutes. Buttery, sweet caramel malt aroma. Light hops, but its pretty unremarkable. The finish is again, sweet and buttery, typical for this brewery. This was pretty much on par with their regular oak aged offering, with a touch more grassy hops.

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a honey colour with a thin white cap. Pretty sure the bottle’s skunked, all I get on the nose is diacteyl, skunk, and light toffee. The flavour is sweet, typical I&G malt profile balanced by a light grass/herbal hop note. Meh, I like I&G, but I wish they would take larger leaps, I find most of the stuff they come out with tastes the same.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A very nice beer that you would never guess is 7% alcohol. Not quite as good as the I&G original but still definitely worth a try.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled. Deep golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is vanilla, toffee, some butterscotch as well as mild hayish notes. Flavour is very similar with mild wooden and slight vanilla as well. Quite rich tonguetickling carbonation.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: AUG 6, 2013 Clear Bottle. Caramel-golden colour. Flavour starts sweet - bourbon-soaked raisins, toffee, bit of maple sugar taste. Decent beer to drink. Purchased at LCBO around $3.15 I believe. Lacking a bit in overall taste compared to some other Innis and Gunn beers however, it is my least favourite from Innis and Gunn!
