Funky on the nose, aroma similar to Heineken. Creamy, smooth taste with hint of scotch whiskey flavor

Botella. Clear golden, medium bubbly white head. Sweet aroma, corn, some fruity hops, malt, vanilla. Ok mouthfeel. Sweet malty fruit (hoppy) bit flavour with mild vanilla and lught alcohol. almost like there is a bit of honey to it. Low bitterness.

Pours a clear dark golden colour with a small spotty white head that leaves a little lace. Aroma is made up of vanilla, bourbon oak, and some sweet malts, and faint grass. Flavour is much of the same bourbon oak, sweet vanilla, sweet maltiness and light grass. Tasty beer with a creamy mouth feel though the style is overshadowed by the barrel a bit.

Bottle. Clear golden whiskey colour and white head. Aroma and taste of sweet malt, vanilla, bourbon oak and a tiny hoppy note. Medium but warmth mouthfeel with a sweet finish. Like most of the beers from this brewer, there´s not much for the hop nut to jump about. Then again: Hop nuts doesn´t value this brewery. I dont think this is the beer rated by Alextricity (this beer first brewed in 2012) and JohnRmurdoch (this beers definately not walnut brown...) I like the appearance, the taste and the value for money in this scottish pale ale.

pours a light toffee brown with extra clarity, minimal head, lots of CO2 activity. Sweet caramel malts on the nose. Attack: 8/10-burst sweetness Mid-palate: alcohol, caramel, malts, butterscotch, mild raisin, Finish: alcoholic, malty light caramel bittersweet with a touch of warmth and tingliness. I really enjoy the butterscotch aroma, good sweetness, and decent body.

I’m not sure if this is the same beer as the one I had. Oh dear God, where do I begin? This beer is just. An absolute atrocity. (Bottled some time in ’11, so keep that in mind.) Appearance: Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. The beer is clear with a brown color. No head, no lacing. Smell: It smells like scotch... with bananas and oak. Taste: Absolutely dreadful. At first instance it’s not bad (though it HARDLY tastes like beer)... I just can’t take the aftertaste. It has a sweetness that’s reminiscent of diet pop/soda, and it has a flat feel to it, despite there being a medium amount of carbonation. I can’t really explain it, but it’s not pleasant at all. Maybe I’m just spoiled, considering I’m surrounded by some great breweries here in Michigan. While I’m not exactly familiar with the difference between Scottish Ales and Scotch Ales, I feel like it’s safe to assume they’re relatively similar. This is my first Scottish Ale, but I’d find it very hard to believe they normally taste like this. The bottle is dated almost a couple years ago, so maybe that’s its problem, but I took a couple sips of this and was done with it. Absolutely awful.

Bright clear amber beer. Good white head. Palate is light and dry and softish. Mild carbonation. Lots of vanilla oak and cream soda! A nice fruity banana ester. Whisper of bubblegum. Finishes softish and semi dry with minerals and a touch of citrus. Decent.

Beautiful orange-light amber color with small sized frothy head. Mild aroma of malt and vanilla. The mouthfeel is round enough; quit good flavor of malt and toffee, to which the oak adds the correct amount of vanilla; correct bitterness.
No surprises, but it’s a well balanced beer.

Here the oak seems to slightly overpower the ale, not in the sense that you can’t taste it (the spiciness blends well with the vanilla oak), but that it has a hollow palate. Lots of caramel but I didn’t find it buttery.
