COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This limited bottling of Innis & Gunn has been finished over oak infused with Caribbean Spiced Rum. The result is absolutely delicious, bursting with the flavours of Caribbean spices along with our signature notes of vanilla, toffee and oak.

Bottled 330ml from Tesco in Banbury. Burnished gold with no head. Sweet, sugary, syrupy start to this, vanilla and milky toffee notes. There is a slight spiced apple flavour that comes through. What I can’t get that much of is beer and rum unfortunately. Not really my sort of beer.

Bottle. Amber color. 7.4% on the label. Toffee, vanilla and rhum in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with with toffee, rhum and vanilla. Just a bit of wood, but rhum dominates. Sweet, sticky, alcoholic, but mellow and well rounded.

A sweetish though not cloying ale. A moderate richness in the finish from an aged anejo black rum cask. Light in the spice department its mostly the vanilla. Drinkable, significant oak mid sip.

MoritzF (8493) - Bochum, GERMANY - MAY 31, 2013
(bottle, 33cl, 2012 edition) Clear, golden colour with a medium-sized and slightly off-white foamy head. Mildly malty aroma with notes of coconut, anise, vanilla and toffee, accompanied by a delicately fruity touch of ripe pineapples. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Slightly buttery malty base with oaky accents with hints of vanilla and toffee; moderately sweet malty finish, not as sticky as expected with a whiff of alcohol. Not bad, quite rounded. 13.IV.13

Rune (8049) - Tromsø, NORWAY - OCT 4, 2013
330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Bestillingsutvalget. Bubbly off-white head that stayed well and left fragile lacing behind. Bright amber coloured body. Oak vanilla on the nose, notes of nuts and rum as well. Vanilla ice cream taste alongside hints of ripe fruit and wood, spiced with cinnamon. Herbal hops to the aftertaste, bittersweet. Soft carbonated. Surprisingly easy to drink. I like drinking a bottle of the Innis & Gunn’s beers now and then (at home in Tromsø, 28.09.2013).

2013-06-27. Crisp golden amber, nice foamy off white head fades. 3++ Aroma starts with a toffee like sweetness, light alcohol, reminds me a bit of Rum Butter Lifesavers actually. Flavour is similarly sweet up front. Drier malt towards the end, toasty sort of biscuity character to it. Smooth average plus bodied palate, light carbonation. Much better than expected! It has cellared for a few months. I might have had it sooner if I knew it was this good! ;) Bottle from the LCBO, Toronto

Clear copper with a slender white cap. Caramel sauce aroma. JD honey, waffles, Dooley’s, vanilla ice cream, Bourbon, expensive rum flavour. A guilty, sickly, revolting, beer-free pleasure from first sip to last.

Scopey (6865) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2013
Bottle at CGarvie Tasting. It pours clear amber with a quickly dissipating white head. The nose is toffee, spice, honey, earth and candy floss. The taste is earth, honey, icing sugar, rum, faint vanilla, brown bread and alcohol. Light-medium body and low carbonation. No real depth of flavour. Forgettable.

330 ml bottle. 12124. BB May 2013. (Alko) Helsinki, Finland. Clear dark mahogany colour with tiny off-white head. Sweet malt, molasses, dark dried fruits, brown sugar and mild alcohol (maybe rum) in aroma. Flavour is rather nice with alcohol, dark fried fruits, molasses, sweet malt and woody dryness. Drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Why describe it-- you can see for yourself through the clear bottle. Sigh. Okay, I’m not going to gie this much of my time. It iss overly sweet and rummy, and just not my thing. The rum casks are my least favourite from a brewerry that has only a few decent outputs for me. I suppose it will find its fans, but I’m not counted among them. Just too sweet and rummy.
