COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This limited bottling of Innis & Gunn has been finished over oak infused with Caribbean Spiced Rum. The result is absolutely delicious, bursting with the flavours of Caribbean spices along with our signature notes of vanilla, toffee and oak.

Aroma has hints of cereal malt with a strong sweet woody backbone. Appearance is an awesome clear amber with light carbonation bubbles. No real head, though small carbonation bubbles come up to the surface frequently. Iím actually not a fan of the taste compared to the non-spiced rum cask I&G. Taste is a medium sweetness balanced with medium/heavy bitterness. Can definitely tell the spiced rum character, and itís nice, but not amazing. Palate has a medium body, texture feels thin and oily. Carbonation is fizzy, and there is an long bitter/astringent finish. Overall, I LOVE the idea of this beer, and Iím a big fan of their normal rum cask version, but the taste just wasnít what I was hoping for. I think personally it need much more sweetness to it.

Copenhagen //5 2016. 33 cl bottle from Rema1000. Classic Innis & Gunn look but in dark bottle. Declares that this beer is full-bodied and bursting with fruit and spicy notes. I canít hardly wait. Pours deep amber with white head. Evaporates almost completely upon pouring. Aroma is sweet of vanilla, caramel, rum and a little alcohol. Soft carbonation and slightly thick palate. Flavor is quite sweet as well. Reminds me a little of sherry. You can actually taste the rum the beer is named after. Very typical I&G - and if you like their brand of beer, this is a fine specimen.

Pours a ruby red with a big frothy off white head. Aroma is of toffee, caramel, wood, and spice. Tastes of toffee, caramel, spice, and vanilla. Has a smooth light body with average carbonation. Surprisingly this beer is quite refreshing.

from the same Total Wine the old arse blonde was from. This was much better, though also seemingly past itís prime. Muddled malts, with a light spice and boozey oak finish. Just ok.

Pours a dark amber with a thin head. Aromas of vanilla and some fruity notes. Flavor is a bit of the same with some caramel roasted malts. Not bad, pretty sweet and not really any hint of rum from what I can tell, but still a decent offering.

330 ml clear bottle in cardboard box, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. BB date Sept. 2013. ABV is 7.4%. Cognac colour, slightly hazy. Small off-white head. Fairly nice sweetish aroma of spiced rum and oak, some vanilla. Nice medium sweet flavour, spiced rum, spiced stewed fruits, moderate oak and vanilla. Minimal hops, as in all Innis & Gunn beers, but here the spiciness to some degree compensates for the lack of hops. Probably the best I & G variety Iíve had so far
