COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This limited bottling of Innis & Gunn has been finished over oak infused with Caribbean Spiced Rum. The result is absolutely delicious, bursting with the flavours of Caribbean spices along with our signature notes of vanilla, toffee and oak.

Pretty beer. Plenty of spice and vanilla and hints albeit comes across as an additive rather than a fully integrated flavour. Still very pleasant drinking.

330ml bottle. Poured a deep red amber with very little head. Lively carbonation with sticky sides. Aroma is light, sweet fruit with some wood and vanilla. Taste is very light spice with a medium rum sweetness and the usual I&G woodsy malt, but lighter. Palate was, once again, lighter than I expected. Overall, I liked the Winter Beer better from this year’s gift pack.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild spiced and raisins. Bitter, toasted malty, caramelish and light fruity note. Bitter and toasted malty flavoured.

Single bottle from the LCBO. Pours a clean deep amber colour with a foamy head. No lacing is found. The nose is quite sweet with loads of toffee, and balanced by nuts, wood, rum alcohol, flowers and mild vanilla. Thankfully, the taste is not as sweet. Soft caramel malt at first, grainy in the middle and a little hop comes out in the finish. The vanilla-oak slightly comes out in the aftertaste. Always nice to see a new experiment from Innis & Gunn, but this one just misses the boat a bit (pun intended).

Poured from a 330mL bottle. Clear copper colour with dissipating white head. Toffee, oak, vanilla aroma. Similar tastes with an overlay of rum. Quite light with little finish. I don’t think the rum works as well as other finishes - seems gimmicky.

The beer pours a red-hued gold colour with a short-lived head which disappears in seconds. Aroma is caramel, rum, wood, and light fruits. No spiciness that I can discern. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is wood, caramel, some rum, and some metallic notes. Nothing outstanding!

Pours a nice golden colour but no head to speak of. Starts off with a great spicy rum taste combined with hops but dissipates too early, and wish it was stronger.

Bottle 330ml. clear glass.

Clear medium amber orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, malt, toffee, wood notes, alcohol - spiced alcohol notes. Flavour is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, malty, toffee, fudge, caramel, spiced rum notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130629]

Typically recognisable I&G beer. Vanilla not quite as prominent, masked by a fruity sweetness from the rum presumably. Not the best from this brewery but pleasant enough. Low carbonation and minimal head on this beer.

In bottle; very interesting beer ... aroma of rum and spice for sure with hints of vanilla and oak. Taste was medium bodied with the sweetness at the beginning and the rum/oak notes at the end. Overall an OK beer, but Innis and Gunn make better options.
