Bottle from a Xmas present (from someone). It certainly is smooth: Mr Sheen table leg. Aroma is slight, with some sweetness. Notes of oak (durrr), vanilla, beet. Very feint Belgian reminiscences. I like it. The flavour is not ka-pow, but feels professional.

pours cola brown with barely any head, thin ringed retention, micro CO2. Medium caramel malts on the nose. Super clean and balanced taste of sweet caramel malts, cola, light coffee, toffee, amaretto, cocoa, and ends with a light bittersweet finish. Medium complexity, medium depth, great transitions, good carry, excellent drinkability. An excellent beer and a definite go-to as a recommendation.

Tumman ruskea ja punertava olut. Vaahtoa muodostuu niukalti.

33cl bottle. Pours dark honey or chestnut maybe. The head is nicely proportioned. The nose has treacle bread or barrabrith, definitely very burnt, rich and malty. The taste has more barrabrith, with a balsam wood taste and a sweet walnut note that continues through to the end. The palate has a medium to rich body with a big creamy texture and a balanced finish that doesn’t cloy. Overall, I & G’s best beer .

Bottle. A dark brown colour with no head at all, the aroma is mainly whisky with oak, the taste is soft with whisky and hints of oak again with a soft dry finish.

Bottle, bought @ Bierzwerg.de.
Pours deep clear chestnut with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has toasted caramel, raisins, light milky chocolate and some sweet vanilla notes. Medium carbonation, dryish and light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has toasted caramel, light chocolate, dryish oak, mild oaky bitterness, some whiskey like smoke and a slight touch of medicine. Nice.

330ml bottle. Dark brown with quickly disappearing white head. Oak notes predominate but blend well with caramel sweetness and vanilla. A typical Innis & Gunn brew, in this case well balanced and therefore one of their best.

33cl bottle from Bierzwerg. Poured ruby red with a white head. Aroma is toffee, vanilla, some whiskey notes as well as some sweet maltyness. Flavor is strongly of vanilla and toffee/caramel with some dried fruits as well. Very smooth, maybe some light alcohol notes in the finish. I really like I&G:s beers. Very enjoable.

33cl, as Innis & Gunn Triple Matured, exclusive Scottish brew, from Bierzwerg Greven, complex brew, sweet/malty and slightly woody/alcoholic, not too heavy, balanced, clear, small head, nice brew
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 GregClow (2667) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 21, 2011
Bottle. Found in the back of my stash, best before date is Dec/10, so likely at least 2 years old. Still in pretty good shape, although I expect some of the sweetness has dropped out, as it’s a bit more subdued than I’d expect from an I&G beer of this style and strength. Colour is dark ruby brown; aroma is dark caramel, a bit of oak, a hint of cocoa; flavour follows, with the addition of some dried dark fruit notes in the middle; mouthfeel is soft and smooth. Very nice & elegant, a pleasure to drink.
