Every ingredient we have used to brew this beer has been selected for its intensity of flavour. Amber and Cara malt have been added to give a rich, almost chewy, malt backbone and body and we have used a classic blend of aroma hops, Fuggles, Goldings and Styrian Goldings to add their signature vibrant characters.

Bottle 33cl bought at Edinburgh, a clear amber beer with medium head. Nose is wood like and vanilla, a bit much to be totally natural ? Aroma is very nice on vanilla and wood notes, caramel and sweet toffee with floral notes, light smoked notes, easy drinkable.

j12601 (6584) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAY 17, 2012
Bottle of the 2011. Pours the same dark crimson brown that it is while in the clear bottle, under a rather large tanned beige head. Papery wood, a soft bit of vanilla and caramel, some smoke and burnt citrus. Medium bodied, quite sweet, but then it fades into relative emptiness. Has the same sweetness that most of the Innis and Gunn stuff has, but it’s not really offensive in any way. Smooth and easy drinking, a touch of sweetness, but not something I’d really ever crave.

Bottle at Papsø tasting. Dark orange with a small white head. Intense woody, smokey, tobacco-like aroma of aged malts. Flavor is spiky, overripe malt sweetness with oaky notes and a dry, bitter, lingering finish. Quite full bodied, oily texture. To relax.
