Angeloregon (2000), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 6, 2008 Bottle from By the Bottle in Vancouver, WA--Poured a light amber body with a thin swirling whitish head. Nose is creamy, sweet, malty, and robust. Notes of caramel and fruity wheat and yeast play. MIld phenolic tang with a bready, chewy spine. Very well build and tasty. CaptainCougar (4663), Rockville, Maryland, USA Sep 26, 2008 Bottle: Pours a transparent copper amber with a thin, spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet sugary caramel malt and wheat with a touch of woodsy spruce character and some banana esters. Body starts with good fullness and sweet maltiness with a touch of clove and doughy yeast before a drier, slightly warming finish. Could be a little more balanced and complex, but not a bad weizenbock. CelticBrew (496), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Sep 15, 2008 Pours a hazy brown, forming large off white foamy head from 500ml swing top bottle. Aroma of cloved bananas, yeast, slight raw cane sugar. Flavour of carameled malts, rock candy and cloves tinged with banana. Alcohol present, but not quite harsh. Decent beer I guess from our friends in Germany, however, its not as refined as some others. beerguy101 (3488), Newark, California, USA Aug 25, 2008 This weizen bock pours a medium brown color from a 50cl swing top bottle. Large sized white foamy head, with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is caramel and sweet, with some brown sugar, banana and yeast. A medium bodied weizen bock. The malts are fruity, caramel and sweet. A touch of banana and yeast. The hops are earthy and spicy. Lively carbonation. A nicely balance, slightly too sweet weizen bock. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.
