3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 doublebock (361) - USA - SEP 25, 2011
Light brown clear color with a mild caramel cola aroma. Sweet malty flavor this is not as strong as most other doublebocks ive had and lacking the palate complexity

Bottle @ Pivni Rozmaniost, Prague. Pours ruby amber with a small creamy white head and lacings. Fruit, good layer of caramel, bread and a whiff of alcohol. Sweet and smooth. Warming alcohol in the end. Nice.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mansquito (1825) - washington, Washington DC, USA - MAR 6, 2012
MacArthur Beverages 500ml ($4): Pours a reddish brown color with an off-white head. Aroma is dark fruit and stuff. Something is amiss with the taste though. I am not sure if there is quite enough of it. Some sweetness. Some roastiness. But really not enough interesting stuff going on. The later sips got better than the earlier sips, but still this doppelbock does not stand out very much.
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 3fourths (6408) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 23, 2011
bottle. clear mahogany body, thin off-white head. buttered biscuit, caramel and plum wine nose with notes of butyric acid and pennies. not exactly infected or heavily oxidized, which is what i was expecting from the nose. mild butter and metallic notes with a stale tobacco and plum malt sweetness, low acid, low bitterness, thin body, noticeable alcohol. finishes thin and pasty with creamed caramel popcorn notes. sadly, bad stuff throughout.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 michael-pollack (4884) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 28, 2011

Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of malt, honey, toasting, and nuts. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Malt, toast, nut, honey finish.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 drjay44 (1736) - Salida, Colorado, USA - AUG 4, 2011
500 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, lasting, light beige head, over a clear, light brown (SRM 20) body....nose is sweet, with raisin, fig, plum tones, bit of brown sugar, toffee/ caramel....taste is light sweet, with raisin, fig, plum, finishing with a slight bitterness.....mouth feel medium, slightly sticky, carbonation adds a foamy quality. This meets its style quite well. The malts dominate, with the hops only minimally present. This is not as complex nor as rich as the very best, but it is quite good. BJCP 7/3/13/4/7
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Kristall-König (1647) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - JUL 8, 2011
Test vom 7.3.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 adnielsen (3762) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAY 24, 2011
Bottle @ home. Dark orange/brown appearance with a cream colored head. Quite sweet, caramel malty, a touch nutty, bock aroma. Very sweet, hazelnutty, caramel, quite malty lager flavor. Caramel aftertaste. Solid Doppelbock but not super special.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 20, 2011
12/11/12/10/9/10
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 notalush (3746) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 8, 2011
Clear mahogany with a creamy an lace - nose of toffee, raisin, bread pudding - fairly creamy and smooth mouthfeel - sweet, rich maltiness, with notes of date, treacle, caramelized sugars - a bit of a harsh acidity near the end, but it subsides quickly - lingering toasted grains and toffee sweetness - decent.
