3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours clear bronze with a reddish hue and a good sized soapy tan head. The aroma has light cocoa, roasty malt, ice cream malt, cream and light nuttiness. Medium / thin body thatís crisp with a pretty good amount of carbonation. The taste is a bit drier than the aroma and has a mineral/medicinal taste to it. The finish is fairly astringent and a bit sour. Okay schwartz.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: dark mahogany, with garnet highlights; respectably frothy. Aroma: dark, bready malts with a hint of fruit, chocolate, and smoke. Taste: roasty, slightly nutty and sweet, with a bit of coffee, dark chocolate, and leather. Finish: earthy hops balance slightly sweet malts for a mellow, smooth finish. Notes: Very decent schwarzbier. Smooth and drinkable palate, although the flavors and aroma are on the lighter side of what I look for in the style.

Tap at CK. Big foam atop clear lighter ruby. Nose is sticky sweet cherries, honey, savory smoke. Taste is thin, minerally, clean. Very light and refreshing. Lemon tea. Palate is fluffy, a bit bland, almost like diet soda.

Swing top bottle from Beer Heaven, Philadelphia, PA. Used a lager glass. Dark brown color with ruby highlights. Aromaís malt, caramel and a touch of chocolate. Taste has lots of roasted grain, coffee notes and mild chocolate malt with a European hop. The hop gives the sweet / malty flavors nice balance. Lighter in body. This isnít anywhere near the best Iíve had in style but it still was nice to drink.

Good session dark. Pours thin black, no head. Itís roasty and a little bitter, with a quick clean finish and low carbonation. If you like a nuttier flavor, this is a good session beer.
