Süßlich-hopfiger Geruch. Test vom 7.2.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,8,9,9,8,9 - 8,60

Bottle. Hazy yellow with a soft white head. Rich creamy grain aroma. Creamy graininess comes through in a bit of a muddled flavour. Creaminess takes away from the crispness. There is a rough edge that takes away from the drinkability.

A: The pour is a clear golden color with a nice big white head. S: Starts off with a bit of corn, followed by floral and grassy hops. There are some nice pale, cracker-like malt aromas as well. Pretty simple and straight forward. T: The hops are pretty evident on the flavor and are quite grassy and floral. The corn is again there, but a pretty solid showing of the pale/cracker malts, too. M: The body is light to medium with a moderate level of carbonation. D: A simple and straightforward Helles. Easy to drink, for certain, but not super flavorful, unfortunately.

Swing top bottle. Effervescent bright yellow pour. Ara was sweet malt, biscuit, grain. Flavor was sweet, biscuity yet crisp. Definitely a grain presence. Not bad but a little sweet. Would like to try more of this style.

500 ml swing top bottle, purchased at the Beer Authority in Lake City (Seattle) Washington. 3 A notched on the label. Pour is hazed yellow orange with a pure white two inch head which is quite lasting. As it eventually falls, nice lacing is left behind. Aroma of sugary caramel malt as though it is being cooked, along with a bright sweet cherry and a hint of grainy earthiness under that. Clean enough, though perhaps a touch on the sweet side for my liking. Taste is the nose, with the cherry jumping out in front, turning towards the sugar sweet caramel malt, and finisihing with the grain earthiness. The earthiness is a bit muddled, almost oxidized tasting, but not quite. Palate is medium to thin, a bit oily and the aftertaste introuduces some synthetic artificial sweetner. Nice enough, just too sweet for my tastes.

Swing-top bottle. Honey and grainy malt aroma. Clear golden yellow color with large head and moderate effervescence. Slight sweet grainy barley malt flavor. A bit too sweet.
