beerguy101 (3488), Newark, California, USA Sep 2, 2008 Sampled on 9/1/08. This Kellerbier pours a medium orange gold color from a 50cl swing top bottle. Medium sized white foamy head, with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is cereal and grain, a touch herbal and floral. A medium bodied ZKL (Zwickel/Keller/Landbier). How is that for an abbreviation? The malts are cereal and grainy, bready and a little caramely. The hops are spicy and floral. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Kind of a run of the mill German lager, well its much better than that, but very drinkable. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and very smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. bhensonb (3013), Woodland, California, USA Aug 3, 2008 Bottle from Liquid Solutions. Gold color with a 3-finger firm white head (which left rings upon dissolution). Aroma is lightly bready with a fair amount of noble hop. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is lightly sweet malt, a tad yeasty/bready, and the hop is not so strong as expected. Quite strong in flavor and aroma, but it is not intense, just really there. A very tasty thing in a non-intensive way. Ernest (4250), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jul 7, 2008 Bottle.
Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting.
Body is clear medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, cereal, husks), moderately hoppy (herbs, flowers), with a light note of honey.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly husky.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Like the other Innstadt beers I’ve tried, the malts are fairly crude and husky. Nice floral/herbal hop punch in the nose, though, and a nice lasting head. ratman197 (2360), Arvada, Colorado, USA Jun 30, 2008 Swing top bottle poured a clear golden yellow with a lasting white head leaving behind good lacing. Aromas of straw, candied citrus and light spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of straw, light citrus and light spice with a crisp lightly sweet malty finish. armando629 (434), Budapest, Hungary Apr 14, 2008 Golden colored body under a delisicious, small but stable head. A bit grainy aroma with a malt and yeast. Sweety flavour with a hint of hop and taste of maize. Nice body, nice mouthfeel. Drinkable, good.
