Serving: Draft at Max’s on Broadway. It pours a gold color with a lasting white head. A touch of dough and florals on the nose. Slightly sweet and bready up front with a low, floral bitterness on the back end. Medium bodied with low carbonation and a short finish. Decent.

Bridgewater at the 30th St. Station Philadelphia ($8) tap: Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is doughy, with a hint of German hops. The beer is mostly a light, slightly grassy lager. There are some notes that I didn’t like that much, but as the beer warmed it grew on me. Not bad, but I’ve had many a better German lager.

500 ml bottle. BB 04/06/13. From bierundbier.de.
Clear golden colour with a small to average sized frothy white head. Malt, mild honey sweetness and some hops in the aroma. Seems to be quite balanced. The flavour is malty. There’s some sweetness, some dryness and mild hoppy bitterness. Drinkable but nothing else. Boring.

Pour is a hazy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is a sweet cereal grain and not much else. Flavor is a decent generic bready malt with a heavier mouthfell than most lagers. Finish has more of the bready malt. It was ok and only 3 bucks. Funny how all the ratings for this beer are from Denmark, Germany or St. Louis.

Pours a deep celar golden color with 2 finger head with small. Primarily driven by toasted malt. Moderately sweet. Hint of herbal bitterness. medium body with soft to moderate carbonation. Long, mildly bitter finish. Very drinkable German lager.
