This bitter sweet pilsner, left an awesome after taste. one of the better Pilsners that I have had

bottle @ John’s Grocery / Iowa City IA --- Clear pale amber color, white head that recedes to a cover, dots and blobs of lace. Taste is pure pilsner - clean robust bittersweet malt followed by floral hops that accent things perfectly. A good example of the style (sorry the two previous reviewers didn’t have an equally good experience)

I got the same experience as 3fourths (below). Seems to have gone off in the shipment. Slightly skunky, cheap cereal lager aroma. Not the crisp German pilsener I was expecting, but think it has more to do with its longevity than the brewer. Too bad, I was looking forward to this.

bottle. lightly hazed pale gold body with a fine white head. supposedly from a new shipment, it’s already oxidized and stale with a bland pilsner malt honey-scented base, no hop aromatics, and an egg shell / drywall powder yeast staleness. medium-light body with decent carbonation froth but it has a grating and brash texture, husky and pasty and bitter. pretty typical average German pilsner uncared for in shipment.

Location: Half liter bottle from State Line, 2/15/13, as Innstadt Pilsener

Aroma: The aroma has some nice, clean hops, with grass, floral notes, bread, and pilsener malts
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color with a small, lasting white head and medium lace
Flavor: The flavor is crisp and on-style, much like the nose, grassy, malty, and with a nice hop feel
Palate: The body of this beer is right on-style for what I was looking for. It is a light, crisp, clean, and refreshing beer, with the only flaw being that it may have a touch too much carbonation to it.
Overall Impression: This is one of the best Pils that I have had in a while. Really good stuff. I don’t have much to add beyond that the crisp and refreshing flavor and drinkability this beer brings to the table is what I’m looking for in this style.

vyvvy (4469) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - MAY 28, 2012
Pours lightly hazy yellow with a large white head. The aroma has pale pils malt, doughy bread and only mild hint of hops - clean and malty. While its medium body it seems full for the style and is quite smooth with a little carbonation on the finish. The flavor starts like the aroma with fully maltiness for a pils. The finish has a bit of spicy grassy hops added to the mix. Quite pleasant.

Pour is a yellow with a large white head. Aroma is of grassy hops and pils malt. Flavor is bone dry pils malt with some hop and white bread. The head on this never goes away. Lots of carbonation but this beer has a decent flavor profile even coming all the way from Germany. Only 11 ratings prior to mine?

Aroma is hops, yeast and a small hint of tea. The flavor is similar to the aroma, along with a mildly bitter finish.
