Previously Innstadt Hefe-Weissbier

Not the greatest Hefe I have ever had. Huge honey aspect. Tastes flat. Very thin. Oakes gave it a 4! I’m shocked.

Got 500 ml flip-top bottle in a trade with CaptainCougar. Pored into my Weizen glass. Hazy copper, nearly brown color. thick full head that stayed and produced some good lace all the way until empty. Lots of lively carbonation. Aroma is a lot of malt with a raisin or vegetable like smell. Taste is big time malt with a thicker wheat/ yeast backbone and a touch of hops. Also notes of bread or biscuits. I have no idea what beer some of the other raters where drinking. but it WASN’T this one. This to me is borderline a Weizen bock and has some really good flavor. I would drink this again. The key is getting a fresh bottle and not one sitting on a self forever.

A: A great looking pour on this one. Cloudy golden orange with two fingers of white head that stick to the glass. S: Doesn’t have the best aroma for a German brewed Hefeweizen. A definite lemony tartness to it, but there is a good enough wheat and bread sweetness. A mild clove spiciness and some hints of orange are there also. T: A significant improvement on the flavor. Sweet and bready with plenty of wheat. There’s an oddly tropical flavor to the beer with some fruit notes to it and even a bit of coconut. M: Medium in body with a lively carbonation. O: Good in the flavor, which I suppose is what’s important, but the nose could use some work.

Cloudy golden with a big and lasting white head. Aroma of spice, herbs and citrus. Sweet grainy flavour with spice and banana. A refreshing and clean hefeweizen

500 ml flip top. It pours a hazy orange-gold with a large but quickly dissipating and watery white head. This one has a huge banana scent, almost pure banana with a hint of spiciness. For the most part though it is ripened banana. The flavor follows suit, banana, and more banana, with a hint of spice and also some lemon and malt. The mouthfeel is highly carbonated but not overly. It is highly quaffable though sweeter than most Hefeweizens. Overall a solid Bavarian Hefe. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 04-26-2010 01:24:15

Poured a hazy brownish color with a large white head. Aroma has wheat, citrus, and some caramel. Taste is fairly skunky with oranges and yeast. Finish has a slightly chocolaty taste. Pretty tasty, but not the best example of the style.
