2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Swingtop bottle. Opens with a forceful pop. Pours a beautiful clear light orange with an amazingly thick foamy white froth, very dense and sticks around forever. Aroma is sweet ripe banana and grains, like banana pudding, some caramelized sugar. Flavor follows aroma exactly, bananas foster, fried brown sugar, very lightly metallic, ripe banana, grainy, slightly hot finish. Body is quite thin and watery with very low carbonation. Starting to like it less and less the more I drink... way too estery.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
500 ml. bottle. Pours the usual huge fluffy white Hefe head which gradually deflates to a thin white layer, over a cloudy golden (SRM 10) body.....nose is wheat, light lemon, bit of apple.....taste is strong cereal, lemon, apple, initially seems sweet, but finishes dry....mouth feel is light carbonation medium. This is not as spicy as the best.

Bottled. A hazy golden with a huge yellowish head. The aroma has notes of wheat, citrus, other fruits as well as a light note of cardboard. The flavor is sweet with notes of wheat combined with cardboard and citrus, leading to a dry wheaty finish.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Billed as being a new beer...not sure how old that information actually is, though. Passauer Weisse is cloudy with a light spice and banana note and maybe a hint of clove. Good, balanced mainstream wheat with spice, wheat, apple and banana. An approachable but very competent hefe.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at brewpub. Orange and hazy with nice white head. Aroma is big fruity bouquet of as much orange juice and peel as banana. The palate is ideal and more quaffable than most weizenbiers for me, which is one of the reason why this one shines. Excellent and juicy, drinkable and hits all the right spots.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a hazy orange bronze with a frothy, well-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet malted wheat and some banana esters along with a touch of lemon citrus. Body starts with average fullness and some biting carbonation with a semi-sweet wheaty flavor and some doughy yeasty character. Finishes with a touch of hallertau bittering hops and some lingering light sweetness. A decent hefeweizen.
