22 oz. bottle from Bine and Vine shared with drsordr. Pours a dark cola brown color with a large fluffy yellowish beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, dark chocolate, earthy, citrus, resin, herbal notes, moderate bitterness, a touch thin, some flavor disappears toward the finish leaving a general bitterness, still one of the better beers from Mexico.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06 pours opaque dark brown to black with huge tan head. Nose pine, mango, resin, hint of roast. Taste deep roasted to burnt malt, and moderate bitter up front. Pine mid palate. Some mineral late. Lingering bitter finish.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Alexey’s place. Thanks Alexey. Dark brown. Aroma of roast and some piney and "green" hops. Flavor with roast and bitter hops, piney and "green". Medium-bodied.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours dark brown with a creamy/foamy dark tan head. Aroma seems a mix of resin and fruit, with a somewhat burnt malt backbone. Seems full bodied. Flavor is dark chocolate, malt and arguably resin hop. Might be a coffee touch. No skimping on ingredients here. Finishing malty but towards dry and bitter. Nice stuff. Could be one of the better Black IPAs around.

Bottle from Sprout’s: Poured a dark brown liquid that was completely opaque while a thick layer of foam head rested on top. The aroma is delightful which greets my nose with robust dark roast malt paired with a fragrant hop profile. The flavor of the beer is rich with a black roasty malt coffee like taste where as the hops are tame but their acidic bitterness is noticeable. This black IPA leans more towards a rich dark porter more so than an IPA. Great job on this one Insurgente.

Dark brown with a big rocky head. Aroma is citrus, woody, toast... black IPA. Sweet up front with slightly chocolatey notes, then it gets bitter, woody with hop. Good balance. I like it.

Beautiful black color, similar to Guiness Stout, but dont expect sweet flavours. NOCTURNA, bitter as the night. Very well accomplished Black IPA. Roasted malt taste, good body, complex aromas.

Bottle, 355ml. Almost opaque black with a slight brownish hue and a creamy brown head. Floral, roasted aroma with hints of tropical fruits, resin and licorice. Medium bodied with high carbonation. Not sweet and moderately bitter, but with a smooth hoppiness and rich toasted character. Not the best black IPA or the most well balanced, but very pleasant.

Bottle, 355ml. A pitch black beer with a minimal red hue at the bottom, a big brown frothy head and some lacing. It has a floral aroma of grapefruit, citrics, pine resin and lots of hops. Taste is bitter with a toasted malt character. There is almost no carbonation and some astringency. The malt and the hops are very well-balanced and overall this is a great black IPA.

Bottle pour in Mexico DF. Black with khaki head. Solid webbing. Rye bread and pine nose. I light roast too. Inviting. Taste follows, though drops some of the stronger hop notes. Light body. Lacks a defining middle.
