COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Silver Medal at The Festival International d’Hydromels 2003

Available at the Société des alcools Strong, mild, unctuous, it leaves in mouth a delightful taste of « fruité ». Very good as apéritif, cocktail or with meal.

Dishes : chinese food best companion, sap house meals, ideal with white meats (with slightly sweet sauce), pork fillet. It brings much litheness and velvety to the mouth… Desserts : honey-based or maple-based desserts, custards and all pastries…

Less dry, but seemingly semi-dry as well. This one resembles Mélilot a lot. It’s a pale golden still mead. Its aromas mostly focus on flowers, clover and attenuated honey. Fresher, cleaner, brighter and more akin to white wine than Mélilot with this greener character, more herbal and grassy, but pretty much the same mouthfeel.

Sample from the bottle (375 ml) at the Mondial de la Bière in Montreal, 2006. Very, very pale, almost clear body with only faint legs in the glass....light musty-grassy nose with lemon-honey subtly making a presence felt....tingly, lightly alcoholic body with subtle sweetness amidst the prevailing dry chardonnay character....a bit of finishing metallic edge dulls the sensation a bit, but this is perfectly fine, if not one of the more inspired meads I’ve had.

Sampled at Mondial 2006. The aroma was not as sweet as the other meads form this producer. The aroma was definite honey with apples and some flowers. The taste was pears and vanilla. Sweet and middle of the road.

Bu au Salon du vin de Montréal 06. Mon premier hydromel et c’était spécial. C’est le plus près d’un vin sec qu’ils ont et c’était plaisant. Goût mi sec et mi sucré ( le miel).

Sweet, musty aroma. Clear golden coloured. Thick, heavy and still. Sweet honey flavour but quite mild. Syrupy. Sampled at Yer Mad.
