Tap at Kickbacks in Jax, FL. Pours a hazy, dirty orange to amber with a medium, very thick creamy off-white to yellow head. Ice cream float retention. Giant sheety lace. Aroma is heavy Chinook hops, heavy grapefruit peel and bitter citrus, light grain and sulfur, bitter florals. Taste is full on bitter, nut skins and nut flesh. Palate is not oily and slick and forgiving. Rather it is powdery, sweaty, salty really not giving you much to fall back on given the 100+ IBUs. Definitely their best beer but not up to par for such a ubiquitous style.

Okay, after Bold City, I was worried my hop receptors had stopped working. Nope. This is hoppy. A little hot in the back, but very satisfying for a hops Jones.

This is our new beach beer! Purchased from the brewery’s tap room which in it’s self is a pretty innocuous place unless you abuse the taps. The can is cool lime and packs a great beer. Nice aroma of grassy hops with a hint of citrus and bready malt. A balanced brew that has a nice citrus punch backed by a solid malt bill. This was well worth the trip to Jacksonville. What happens in Jacksonville stays in Jacksonville!

12/7/11. Growler thanks to Tim! Hazy golden orange pour with a nice khaki head that sticks for quite awhile. Huge dank aroma with pot, pine trees, and a touch of citrus... I kinda dig it! Slightly less appealing flavor with a bit of dankness, caramel, a bit of roast, and a touch of sour... eh.

Hazy gold brown pour with off white head. Nice aroma of pine and citrus hops. Taste is resiny grapefruit hops, grass and a slight vegetal quality. Medium texture with tight spike of carbonation. Long bitter finish. Good.

Pours a hazy orange/yellow. Aroma is orange and lemon zest and grassy hops. Big hop flavor with very good citrus notes. Easy on the palate. IBU is 84, comes through on the finish. Really well done IPA.

Tried on tap at the Florida Brew Fest 2011 addition. It pours hazy copper fully opaque with thin gold edges and nice tan head. The haziness must be hinting at the degree of hoppiness and that makes me happy. The aroma is resiny and thick with grapefruit, orange rind, tangelo and pine. These are at near robust aromatic levels for the style. They did serve it a bit cold so those that experienced it quickly missed some of the goodness delivered once it warmed a bit. The taste offers up firm to robust grapefruit, orange and tangelo citrus hop flavor and then running up to solid bitter hop notes to midway and leaving the flavor hop notes behind. This beer has medium body and is sessionably goooood.

Pint at the brewery taproom. As with the 3 other beers I have tried, this is an excellent ale. Amber beer with a small white head and some lacing. Nice hop aroma as expected for an IPA. Flavor is malt forward, but hops well represented. Very tasty, easy drinking, 7% ABV. Other offerings were on tap that I wanted to try or I would have stayed with this the night. Very tasty IPA.
