on tap @RBWG-JAX- A-smoke-med malt. T-smoke/chocolate-dk malt, 2nd hops, then some sweetness comes in.

On tap at the brewpub, JAX. Nice hefty dark brown pour, copper gleaming every so often in a way that seems to suggest the maple addition to me. Thick foamy head and a nice roasty aroma. Not quite as much breakfast in this stout as expected, given that I found the maple fairly muted in the taste, but still quite an enjoyable sipper.

On tap at the brewery during RBWG 2013. Pours clear brown with a creamy tan cap. Good smokey dark malt nose, some burnt toast, charred meat. Medium to big sweet flavor, good roast and smoke, some ham. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly syrupy, more smoke. Good stuff.

Brown black pour with tan head and lace. A hard roasted malt and burnt coffee aroma. Sour chocolate maltiness with a good malt bitter finish. I thought I got a touch of smoke. Medium full bodied with good carbonation.

this is not a beer i would equate to a truck stop .. . deep brown black .. burnt toast and chocolate oatmeal .. . medium mouthfeel .. . very nice beer .. . . i’m buying my mom life alert! she is very clumsy and now i never have to visit her...

Tap at Intuition RBWG. Pours muddy brown with small off white head. Nose shows some smoked meat, nuttiness, spent coffee grounds, light sugary sweetness. Flavor is similar but I didn’t get much of the maple syrup and it seemed like it had a light spicy rye note in the finish.

Aroma: Roasted malts and coffee
Taste: Roasted malts, grainy and rich chocolate
Nice

Pours a thick black brown on tap with a bubbly tan h that leaves light lacing on the way down. Aroma of roasted malt, slight coffee, sweet maple, and a hint of peppery spice. Taste is a clean roast on the coffee, with a hint of maple pepper bacon and pancakes. Thick on the mouth and a nice bitter finish. Definitely a good beer to have for breakfast.

This is a pretty unique beer. Some people in our party preferred this to the king street, but I did not. The flavors don't go well in my opinion and the taste ends up being sharp. Taste has a bit of char to it ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
