Tap at Intuition. Pours a deep, clear ruby with no lace. Excellent thick Dunkin Donuts coffee nose. Taste is a bit cloyingly sweet with a big syrupy molasses character. Sugary sweet atop some faux DMS vegetal character from the coffee. A bit green in the taste. Nose is the highlight.

Appearance: Slides out a dark brown, near black body with a small, sudsy head tinged a faint ecru.

Smell: A forward scent of coffee in the aroma with a hard, well roasted edge to it and some chocolate, caramel hints to it.

Taste: Coffee-toned roasted malts yielding sweetish caramel and chocolate powder. A bit of vanilla, though I’m not encountering any of the maple syrup I’d hoped to stumble upon. No apparent hop character or bitterness, though a smidge of sweetness-balancing astringency is felt from the roasted grains. A teaspoon of cream. Sensibly roasty finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-light carbonation.

Overall: It’s not great and it’s no CBS, but it’s very, very decent.

On draft at Intuition. Pours a stout brown with a tan head. Nose is nice smoke character, slight dark fruit, cocoa, dark chocolate, and hints of almost cherry. Flavor is similar- starts smokey, but then the roasted malts and hints of dark fruit come to the dance and give layers to this one. Light to medium in body, for style, and a nice illustration of blending smoke in and not letting it dominate the flavor profile. Very nice beer.

Pours deep brown with a little tan head. Nose is coffee and brown sugar. The taste is sweetness (more brown sugar and cocoa than syrup) and earthiness from the coffee. Palate is a little light for the style, but this was a really good brew.
