3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle form bierzwerg.de. [thanks nightfall]
Clear orange mahogany with a medium, frothy, off-white head. Light fizzy but still good duration. Aroma is complex, roasted caramel, a hint of chocolate, some black pepper, grassy hops, a hint of raspberry. Medium carbonation, fine creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is mild, good maltiness, toasted caramel, light roasted notes, a bit of raisin, some mild liqourice, soft salty. Sharp, but elegant, grassy and floral hoppy bitterness in the end. Very elegant beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Murky chestnut colored with a very large light tan head that evaporates quickly and leaves nice lacing.
Nutmeg and cinnamon, with scotch and malt.
Starts sweet and progresses to spice then bitterness. Somewhat complex, with a nice combination of spices.
Very full bodied, yet does not show its alcohol.
Overall a nice scotch style ale, good on a cold winter’s day.

Bottle. Dark toasted malt aroma - between porter and stout. Dark amber color with a beige head. Medium body with near creamy carbonation. Flavor has a lot of resiny hop and dark/toasted malt. Not so sweet as many Scottish ales. Finishes relatively dry. Quite refreshing and tasty.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled, 500ml from Glencoe Village Co-Op, Highlands, Scotland. Copper with ruby hue and off white head. Sweet malts dominate initially, reasonably clean in character although there is an odd plastic perfumey note going on. Sweetish toffee, caramel, some leafy hop but little bitterness. Reasonable enough.
