3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 minch25 (575) - Medford, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 27, 2008"Deep burnt sienna" color, fleeting head that makes it look more like cranberry juice than a beer. Rich malty aroma, something like a sweet barleywine. In fact it does start off sweet with a hodge-podge mix of berry flavors, but dries out very quickly as the hops come in, making an earthy, woodsy bitter flavor on the back of the tongue. Medium-bodied and minimally carbonated. Very interesting flavor.

500 ml bottle, rated from backlog. Copper color with small head. Aroma of sweet caramel, malt, fruits, and toffee. Flavor of caramel, toasted malts, nuts, and fruits. Very nice but lacks complexity
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Jokine (51) - Manitoba, CANADA - MAY 15, 2013
Pretty good beer with lots of flavour. You get some good malty sweetness of toffee and vanilla, along with some fruity apple at the end. A bit of warming on the way down, but not to much.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours mahogany, copper red in color with medium bubbly head. Notes of spices, nuts, sweet malts and hops, caramel and toffee, some yeast. Quite nice and interesting. Slight bitter at first but with a sweet smooth finish.

Pours a dark copper color with a fair head that fades to bits of lacing. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel, bit of nuts and spice. Taste of caramel sweetness, dark fruit, trace of spice and chocolate. Mild bitterness and the finish is quite dry.. Moderate body, smooth and warming. Alcohol is well hidden. Enjoyable beer. Goes best with a cold evening.

Clear reddish dark brown.
Pleasant sweet, caramelly aroma.
Taste has roasted malts and sugar, light bitterness.
You can sense the alcohol.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jmgreenuk (1375) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAR 24, 2013
Bottle at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear dark brown with a broken white head and plenty of broken lace. The aroma was fruity and a little sweet, leading to a medium to strong alcohol bitter taste with lots of malt and liqourice, followed by a little additional sweetness too on the palate. The finish is smooth and weak bitter. It’s the palate where all the burning takes place! It’s a nice, heart warming winter ale and good in the Asian heat too when served cool, but the alcohol is starting to dominate this beer more than I would like.

(from backlog) Light tan long lasting head. Amber color. Aromas of fruits and caramel. Extra points from the bottle decoration ;)
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Jado (279) - Camp Hill, AUSTRALIA - FEB 4, 2013
Pours a dark coppery brown - not entirely clear - with some orange highlights and a thin off-white head. Raisins, burnt sugar, dark fruit and malt come through on the nose, as well as a distinct alcohol whiff. The taste is initially quite mild, with biscuit-like malt the main flavour, but then you get a distinct though not unpleasant bitterness at the back of the palate and a little alcohol burn. Medium body and a lingering, sweet and fruity finish. A bit unbalanced, though certainly very drinkable.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Unde (96) - FINLAND - FEB 1, 2013
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2013 Strong smell, it is something different but strong. Really soft for a seven % beer. Main taste is gentle and good for a ale. Aftertaste is a mix of alcohol and malts, too powerful alcohol flavor. It is nice however.
