Cask, King’s Head, Carlisle. Sparkling pale golden ale, light bodied, good and tangy, nice maltiness with a pleasant bitterness that lasts well. Grassy aroma, some fruit to taste. Good stuff.

Cask-conditioned at the Edgar Wallace, London WC2, 17/02/2011. Deep gold with a slight off-white head. Sweet, caramel and berry fruit aroma with some orange. Flavour was also sweet, with a buttery Caledonian-like caramelised edge, more fruit and moderately bitter finish. It grew on me.

Nutty, earthy and grassy, citric hops on the tongue. Medium length citrus hop finish on a soft, light to medium body.

Cask at the Draft House. Clear gold pour, light film. Bready malt nose, light butter and grain. Lightly sweet with caramel, ripe fruits, some bread, very bland bitters. Light to medium in body with soft carbonation. Bit of faint, leafy hops to finish, more doughy malts and weak caramel. So so.
