A full sweet aroma following through in the taste with a lovely sweet malty backbone. The finish is lightly bitter with a spicy edge and complements the beer beautifully. An excellent dark ale.

Bottle, rated from backlog. Clear amber with white head. Aroma is sweet, fruit, malt and fresh hops. Taste is fruity and hoppy with good maltiness.

Brown in colour with an even head. Malty arome with rasins and toffee. Some blackcurrant. Even some sourness. Malty taste with hops and some berries. A OK beer, but perhaps it would be better on cask?

Aroma: Grass, grapefruit, brown sugar and iced tea.
Appearance: Clear mahogany body with a thin white head. Light carbonation. Good lacing
Taste: Caramel, roasted malt, biscuit and juicy orange.
Palate: Thin body with a watery mouthfeel. Average carbonation.
Overall: Very drinkable and flavoursome, although it’s a bit watery.I think I (just) prefer Inveralmond’s Ossian.

Poured a medium amber with a small white head. Aroma of chocolate and caramel malt. Meidum body, flavour as the aroma, quite a bitter end.

Dobre wytrawne i goryczkowe piwo. Troche jakby cynamon w tle. Piana ladna i trwala choc sredniej wielkosci. Pijalne piwo niezbyt ciezkie. Dopasowuje sie do kazdej niemal potrawy. Kolor piwa lekko brazowy.

(cask) pours a slightly hazy ruby-amber colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of bread dough, cherries and marzipan, with a hint of barnyard and butter. flavour is slightly husky, with notes of white grapes, banana, roasted grain, caramel and a light-bitter finish. medium-bodied with soft carbonation.

500 ml bottle sampled in 2009. Clear amber body with a dense off-white head. Aroma is light malt, caramel, toast and some fruit. Flavor is sweet biscuit malt, caramel, some fruit and moderate bitterness. Medium body and aftertaste. Decent average.

Aroma: Slightly sweet fruity, malty and fresh hoppy.
Palate: Medium body. Slightly sweet and a fine mild bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Fruity and hoppy on a solid malty background.
Overall impression: Lovely fresh and tasty ale.
