1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
Slightly stale/ yeasty nose with trace amounts of spices. Thin mouthfeel close to many american pale lagers. Hints of cinnamon and clove with barely any substantial hop presence. Tasted like a spiced, old Budweiser. Bought at Bestway in Greensboro for 6$. Worst holiday beer I’ve yet tried

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle in Scotland.
Cinnamon and nutmeg, tastes like white pepper, too. A decent beer base for the spices, tather light at 4.3%, but this would have been nice on cask. Would be fine with Christmas food, too.

2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Golden color pour with a thin white head. Very spicy nose with aromas of cinnamon, vanilla bean, cardamom, and gingerbread. Sadly the taste bears little resemblance to the bright and spicy aroma. Flavor is bready and slightly bitter. Cereal malt lingers on the palate. Mouthfeel is thin. I would have loved for this beer to have a larger malt backbone and more spice in the flavor.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
From a 500 ml Bottle. This poured a clear copper color with a large off-white head and sticky lacing rings. Nose caramel malts with some cinnamon. Body is medium with a soft mouthfeel like you get from hand pulled casks. Interesting how they manage to get this in a bottle. the flavor sweet caramel malts, some light floral hops, and again some spices like nutmeg and cinnamon. Very tasty and well made winter seasonal.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 mL bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized offwhite creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of toasted malts, caramel, spices and a bit of butterscotch. The taste is grainy malts, nutty notes, some toastiness, a bit of citrus and a spicy finish. Medium bodied. Decent beer.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Copper color with a medium head. Light orange, biscuit and grainy aroma. Bready and grain dominant flavor. Very light spicing that becomes more pronounced as it warms, possibly allspice.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
500ml bottle from Vino Wines Grange Loan in Edinburgh. Gets an extra score for the cool label illustration of the relaxing Santa. Pours a fragile, white head on top of a golden-amber coloued body. Notes of Christmas spices to the nose. Lightly spiced with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon, added by a careful touch of leafy hops. Rounded, spiced bitter end. Very average (hotel room, 28.11.2010).

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Copper bodied with a short, off-white head. Aroma is almost pure nutmeg and cinnamon. Maybe a soft gingerbread like aroma as well. Taste is big nutmeg, cinnamon, light gingerbread, sweet malt and faint hops. Body is light-medium with a pleasant creamy carbonation. Ends with more cinnamon and nutmeg, sweet malt, and soft hop notes. It’s pretty much all spice but is not overdone and is well made.

500 ml bottle, kindly shared by my beerpal Olav. ABV 4.3%. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Strong fruity and caramel aroma, also butterscotch. Flavour of malts, toffee and butterscotch. Moderate hops, hints of spices. Nicely balanced, very drinkable.
