2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
500ml bottle from Vino Wines Grange Loan in Edinburgh. Gets an extra score for the cool label illustration of the relaxing Santa. Pours a fragile, white head on top of a golden-amber coloued body. Notes of Christmas spices to the nose. Lightly spiced with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon, added by a careful touch of leafy hops. Rounded, spiced bitter end. Very average (hotel room, 28.11.2010).

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Copper bodied with a short, off-white head. Aroma is almost pure nutmeg and cinnamon. Maybe a soft gingerbread like aroma as well. Taste is big nutmeg, cinnamon, light gingerbread, sweet malt and faint hops. Body is light-medium with a pleasant creamy carbonation. Ends with more cinnamon and nutmeg, sweet malt, and soft hop notes. It’s pretty much all spice but is not overdone and is well made.

500 ml bottle, kindly shared by my beerpal Olav. ABV 4.3%. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Strong fruity and caramel aroma, also butterscotch. Flavour of malts, toffee and butterscotch. Moderate hops, hints of spices. Nicely balanced, very drinkable.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled sample. Medium gold in colour with moderate carbonation. ARomas are of orange marmalade, nutmeg, cinnamon, Christmas cookies and a bot of yeast. The nutmeg gets a bit overpowering in the mouth, and doesn’t blend quite so well with the elements of crispy pale malts and other more vague spice notes. Dry savory finish. The aroma is great, but the spices throw the flavor and mouthfeel out of balance.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour is an almost red with a large white head. Aroma is spiced out the wazoo. Flavor is also all about the spice. I deffinatly get the nutmeg and cinnamon. Finish leaves a little earthy malt on the tounge. Enjoyable and sessionable even with all the spice.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Beverages 4 Less in Santee, CA. Pours copper with a foamy two finger beige head. Mild xmas spice aroma. Medium body; foamy carb. There’s a lot of flavor. Nutmeg? Evergreen? Malt. Not too strong, but definitely entertaing. Actually towards dry. Spiced bitter.
