Cherrybank Inn in Inveralmond by Perth in Scotland August 2005, draught. Amber, nice head and lace. The aroma is fruity and the flavour has notes of roasted malt, fruits, citrus and a nice bitterness. It’s smooth and complex, and really nice.

Cask, Central Bar, St Andrews. Amber colour with a thin off-white head that laces well. Slightly sweet, with grassy hops in the nose. Mouth is more of the grassy hops, a little herby, slight bit of caramel balance. Not really crisp in the palate, a bit bitter lasting at the back of the throat, but that grassy hop all the way. Bit too 1D for my liking.

Cask at the Market Porter in Southwark. Aroma of apple?, hop and malt. Fruity hop anyway. Dead amber color with a lightly lacing white head. Starts with a lightly spicy hop, along with malt, moving to light malt, getting enough hop at the finish to balance it out. Not an astringent finish, but enormously refreshing.

(Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Reddish amber colour with a small white head. Malty, nutty nose with notes of toffee and citrus (orange, mandarin). Malty taste with orange, mandarin, toffee, caramel and a fresh earthy, flowery hoppiness in the finish. Tasty, well balanced and easy to drink.
