Formerly called Pitch Black Black Beer
Characteristics: It shouts stout … deep colour and rich hints of chocolate and coffee yet dry enough to want another pint … an excellent beer to match with chocolate cake and seafood like bluff oysters. Can be served either chilled or at 10-15 º C for full hit of flavour.

2016-05-30. Black body, big foamy tan head. Aroma of dusty cocoa and lightly roasty malt, sweetish malt base. Flavour is similar, lightly roasty dusty cocoa over sweetish malt base. Smooth average bodied palate, moderate carbonation, a touch light for a stout overall. Tasty straightforward stout. 7/4/6-7/3/14 On tap at Little Beer Quarter, Wellington, NZ.

Not enough aroma, very refreshing and long lasting flavor in the palate. Very reach roasted coffee sensation. Recommended

Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear dark mahogany with a long lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is light smoky roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, creamy caramel. The flavour is smoky malt bitter with a smooth, light roasty, burnt toffee palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Pours black, absolutely no light is going through that. head sticks around but not for long. Nutty, chocolatey coffee malty nose. very smooth, with a slight frizante. the bitterness kicks in after your palate is reminded of the nose. and lingers. pretty good.

Bottle from cellarbrations super store in hami hill. Pours pitch black with a thin tan head with low carbonation and a silky light body. Aroma is dominantly chocolate and mocha with a slight coffee undertone. Also in the aroma there are some fruits particularly rockmelon. Taste is slightly smokey with coffee and chocolate. The aroma is way more inviting than the taste but for a sessionable stout this was pretty good.

On tap at Pomeroy’s, Christchurch. Pours, guess what, pitch black! Typical dense stout head, medium size. Smoky, but not too much. Liquorice, but not too much. Good beer.
