Put this on a spit, roast it til itís done, then sharpen your blade and carve it! A carnivoreís beer.

"this scores pretty dang good on RB (95) but I didnít particularly care for it. You know who sets the bar in this style and I didnít think this beer could hold that beerís jock. The smoke was nice, especially in the aroma. Pretty aggressive, but the overly sweet and slightly cloying body and flavor made me think this is a one-timer for me."

(bottle - 330 ml) Orange pour with a thin white head. Huge smokey and meaty aroma. Not much else detectable. Flavor is a ton of the same meaty and smokey at the start with a very subtle sweet malt underneath.

The head is medium, the body dark brown. It smells smoky, darkmalty, raisin, bit brown sugar-sweet. The taste is brown-sugar-sweet, bit bitter, darkmalty, creamy, bit smoky.

This is a fantastic beer. Pours to a deep rusty colored body with a tall creamy off-white head. The aroma is nicely smoked and definitely pungent. Kind of like it is beechwood smoked, but I see Manuka. The flavor is sweet caramel and definite smoke. But, the smoke is delicious. I really am digging the smoke flavor. Very unique and sweet. Very nice palate that finishes pretty clean.

(Bottle, 2009) Good beer. Dark amber colour with thick head. Smoky aroma and smoky taste with warming alcohol finish and smoky sweet aftertaste but well balanced. Medium body with above average carbonation.

Bottle. Toasty caramel malt and light smoky aroma. Hazy russet with a small off-white head. Ashy smoke and toasty malt flavor with a roasty bitter finish. Body on the light side of medium, moderate carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a mid brown colour with a thin head, aroma has smoke and malt, the taste is bitter and still has plenty of smoke with a dry finish.

Nice wee drop. Appears a pleasant light clear cooper with lasting white head. Aroma is slight smoke which continues through into the flavour. Subtle manuka smoke, on a velvety mouth feel. Nice enjoyable beverage.†

Hazy deep amber beer, tidy pale tan head. Smooth palate, softish with very mild carbonation. Smoke! Initially too much smoke, but the palate adjusts a vaguely fruity tone comes through. Traces of lactose malt and hop citrus before the semi dry finish. All right but the smoke could be dialled down a bit!

Bottle. Pours a very cloudy darker brown color with almost no head on it. Nose is extremely smokey, almost like a peaty scotch, and has just a hint of the sweetness from the underlying style coming through underneath. Taste is also quite smokey and reminds me quite a bit of a campfire. Very little sweetness in there, though you can get just a hint of it in the finish.
