COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle shared by ryan on 1/10/10: Pours a very pale champagne golden with a small ring of bubbles. Has a sweet caramel appel and citric tart balance in the nose. Starts fairly dry with a crisp fresh fruity tartness and some melon notes before a drier apple skin finish. A pretty drinkable and refreshing dry cider, but doesn’t have much complexity.

Bottle courtesy of Ryan at the first DC tasting of 2010. Flat yellow, no effervescence at all. Aroma of sour apples and light citrus, with hints of vanilla. Flavor starts with apples and gets progressively more sour. Decent body. A radical departure from Normandy ciders, with less body and bubbles, but much more funkiness. Very pleasant variation on a theme.

From DC Local tasting. Pours a translucent light yellow. Sour tart nose with Granny Smith apples. Grainy taste. Watery body. Sourness fades quickly. No head no lacing. Definitely a step up from the sweet, fruit ciders I’ve tried before.

Sampled at the DC Local Tasting. Pours a transparent, slightly hazy, greenish yellow with zero head. Aroma is tart, funky, apples, cheese, musty. Flavor is slightly sweet, slightly tart, apples, grass, again a little musty. Finish is a little watery.

Funky cheesy nose, lots of phenols, bordering on band-aid. Light refreshing taste, lots of apple and pear, light lemon, lightly tart with some hay. Finish is tart and tannic.
