Wow, who brought this 1.5L? Morgan? Awesome! Pours copper with gold edges and lasting off white head. The aroma is almost musty then chewy sweet malts along with plenty of pine hops and a sense of spicy hoppiness. The taste begins with thick sweet malts and a touch of apricot – prune dark fruity esters. It then moves into nearly sticky chewy malts and pine hop bitterness creating a pleasing flavor. Into the finish the sweet malts don’t let up and move into the after taste with the aid of a dash of roast, smooth pine hops and a growing sense of booze. This is a smooth even tasting American Barleywine.

Magnum at PPRBSG shared by lilbeerdocter and fredandboboflo. Pours a medium woody copper with a thin head. Aroma is toasted nuts, good sweet caramel malts, toffee, and a sharp tea and citrus like hoppiness- green and grassy as it warms but nice bready maltiness as well. Toasty and toffee malts, caramel malts, light apple acetaldehyde- fruity- apple and ligth dates- grassy green hops more tea slight herbs and a slight oxidation. Ok.

Golden brown with hints of red. Light brown sugar on the nose. Chaulky dried fruit flavor with a very harsh finish. Thing and watery. Drinkable but not special.

I thought this bottle said Summer Barley Wine. Earthy musty character with very sweet caramel malt and some carboard. Some mellow dark fruit and raisins.

Thanks to fredanboboflow and lilbeerdoctor. Pale amber beer with a thin head. Aroma is of sweet sticky malts. Fruity and fairly rich with a light chewy character. A bit of apricot and stewed/candied fruit. Lightly earthy hoppiness with a UK-type spicy/woody bitterness that comes through late. A little bit of sherryish oxidation. Pretty decent.

Monstrously large 1.5 liter bottle at PilsnerPeter’s Spring Gathering. Pours a hazy reddish amber with a thin white head. Medium bodied and with nice plum notes, but too hot to be tasty. Very boozy, and not so good.
