Mostly very positive, but faded at the end...seemed to get a bit medicine-y. Should be paired with food like sharp cheeses, chips and queso, etc. Has a kind of interesting "prune" flavor running through it. Nice color and good mouth feel with pleasant sweet/bitter battle.

Bottle courtesy of Strykzone. From the 22 oz bottle poured brown with quite a bit of foam. Not a gusher but close. Nose of roasted malts and some fruit. Flavor is a burn malt. In fact burnt coffee is more like it. The fruit kinds disappears under the burnt coffee taste. Finishes bitter but with some bite.

Bomber I came back from GTMW with. Cloudy amberish. A big gushing head, very gushing. The beer has dark fruit, cocoa, and rich malts. Something like vanilla beans with some toffee. Decent.

"Very malt driven robust brown ale. Possibly a little past it’s prime, and that is reflected in the score. Ever so slight vegetal offness. If not for that, this would be an exceptional robust brown. Roast, coffee, dark chocolate, light citrus hops...and unfortunately a touch of green olive :("

Bottle: Pours a dark, rich brown color with a smallish, off-white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of caramel, dark fruits. taste is slightly sweet, with plenty of roast malt character, undertones of burnt caramel and toffee flavors. Finish is all bittering hops. It is medium-light on the tongue with good carbonation and clean finish.

Ipswich Dark Ale has a medium, off-white head, a caramel color, lots of streaming bubbles, and thin lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of caramel, sweetness, and light cocoa. Taste is of caramel, sweetness, cocoa powder, and mild bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and a little bit slick. Ipswich Dark Ale finishes dry, sweet, and very drinkable. I think it’s most excellent! Bottle. Dark brown with a creamy light-tan head. Smell is tea, dark fruits, savory english yeast dustiness, herbs, slight malt. Flavor continues. It has more hops in the flavor, nice english herbal hops. There is some roasted malt and cocoa as well as caramel and toffee.

22oz bottle 5/6/13 (Binny’s Naperville Clearance Rack)-50° in Mug-Pours brown with a huge off white head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, brown sugar, and hazelnut. Taste of the same. This light to medium bodied brew is well balanced and is quite tasty.

22oz bottle. Pours brown color, thin white head. Aroma of toasted grains, oats, Munich Malts, brown sugar, floral hops. Flavors of toasted grains, bitter resin. Lingering bitterness. Tastes like an American Brown Ale. Overall, a very nicely hopped Brown Ale. (3636)
