lemasney (302), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Apr 16, 2008 heavy maltiness, dark bread, straw, burnt, nutty, molasses, dark chocolate, strong coffee, heavy hops, resinous, grapefruit citrus, and lime citrus. heavily yeasty, sweat, barnyard, raisin, prune, date, red wine, ruby port, oak cask, charcoal. chalky, paper, sulfur. amazing taste. rich, heavy, creamy, frothy, with a light brown head, excellent lacing, mostly lasting longevity, a hazy body, with medium orange, red body. lightly sweet and acidic, heavily bitter, and sour long finish. full body, creamy, lively carbona, with astringent, alcoholic finish. An absolutely stunning beer. cwalsh156 (6), Exeter, New Hampshire, USA does not count Sep 26, 2008 A very good beer, alot darker and more filling then other IPA’s I have dealt with but a very very good beer. One of my favorites. Gusler (2656), Tucson, Arizona, USA Aug 29, 2000 A good strong malt and a very hoppy little brew, but that’s what and IPA should be. Very refreshing, if you like hops. beermatrix (1497), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Nov 24, 2003 Super nice deep golden bronzed color, clouded with a suspended jelloy haze, finger high head of thick and fluffy yellowish creamyness, fades to a skim always present and lace in stringy broken sheets. Aroma is freshly hopped with some nice citrusy strong pine, highly floral and sweet with a toasty malt backing. Taste is quite nice of floral, cirtusy strong hoppyness, highly crisp and grapefruit peel bitterness, super toasty malt backing with a slight burntness adding to the hop edge which really pokes the palate and lasts throughout a substantially long finish of crispy floral dry bitterness. Yum! Feel is pretty darn full from start to finish and has a whopper of a lingering finish. This IPA is super tasty and has a great floral hop ride, the fullness is a little much and makes for a bit of an overwhelming drinkability, could be smoother in that realm, but otherwise one hell of an IPA by Mercury. cfranz (261), Acton, Massachusetts, USA Dec 6, 2004 Nice cloudy amber color with a decent head. Flowery, fruity and hoppy, an overall very addictive IPA. I usually shy away from IPAs, but this is the brew that just might convert me. Got it in the "Yacht Club Mix" gift pack. If this is the kind of beer you serve on a yacht, I gots to get me a yacht.
