A strong, highly hopped India Pale Ale that is smooth with a slight malty sweetness.

UPDATED: JUN 1, 2009 Drank while watching football, nice unfiltered IPA. Cloudy, amber color. Off white head dissipated pretty quickly, left slight lacing on glass. Flowery aroma of hops. Spicy, hoppy flavor with strong yet smooth finish. Carbonation present but not overwhelming. Overall I really enjoyed this beer.

A good strong malt and a very hoppy little brew, but that’s what and IPA should be. Very refreshing, if you like hops.

Super nice deep golden bronzed color, clouded with a suspended jelloy haze, finger high head of thick and fluffy yellowish creamyness, fades to a skim always present and lace in stringy broken sheets. Aroma is freshly hopped with some nice citrusy strong pine, highly floral and sweet with a toasty malt backing. Taste is quite nice of floral, cirtusy strong hoppyness, highly crisp and grapefruit peel bitterness, super toasty malt backing with a slight burntness adding to the hop edge which really pokes the palate and lasts throughout a substantially long finish of crispy floral dry bitterness. Yum! Feel is pretty darn full from start to finish and has a whopper of a lingering finish. This IPA is super tasty and has a great floral hop ride, the fullness is a little much and makes for a bit of an overwhelming drinkability, could be smoother in that realm, but otherwise one hell of an IPA by Mercury.

Nice cloudy amber color with a decent head. Flowery, fruity and hoppy, an overall very addictive IPA. I usually shy away from IPAs, but this is the brew that just might convert me. Got it in the "Yacht Club Mix" gift pack. If this is the kind of beer you serve on a yacht, I gots to get me a yacht.

Great hoppy ale; not as good as when it was brewed in Mass and sold only in the growlers. Still a great drink though.

Pours a hazy copper witha lacy ivory head. Lots of yeasties swirling around. (Ipswich beers pour so great! Great big heads and lots of yeast swirling around. Maybe I decant too roughly but it’s great.) Smells fruity and of strong bitter hops. Taste is fruity and yeasty, sour malt up front. Big hops soon after. Very intersting balance of the fruity and yeasty malt and the really strong hops. A dry and hoppy finish. Nice hoppy aftertaste. A really unique IPA. Tasty. Must get again. When’s my buddy going to MA again?

12oz bottle as part of a mixed 12pack from Market Basket. Pours a hazy red bordering on copper with a quarter inch of off-white head that sticks to the side of the glass and creates some decent lacing as it dissipates. Orange and grapefruit dominate the aroma, with hints of lemongrass. Orange, grapefruit dominate the flavor as well, with enough caramel and chocolate malt to help balance. Lemon grass and pith also show themselves. Solidly medium in body with ample carbonation makes this one a fair bit more drinkable than expected. Overall a super-solid IPA, and another solid offering from this brewery.
